I am…and there is a lot wrong here. Accidents happen, of course. However, the wall is constructed incorrectly and the appropriate steps to stand it were not in place.
Shooting a nail through your foot while standing in a slab isn’t fun if I woulda been standing on plywood it wouldn’t have been so bad the nail wouldn’t have bent back up into my shoe I’m the only one who did freak out my whole crew was freaking *( I was the foreman )* I had the get a pair of wire cutters and a pair if pliers I cut the head off I told one of the guys hold my foot why I pull this through so they did I got it out threw my shoe back on and went back to work when my boss got back at the end of the day to pick up the trailer he saw me limping and asked what had happened the crew told him before I could he asked why I didn’t call I told him there was no reason this happened at 10am we worked 7am-4pm I was at work the next day, I broke three ribs falling onto a makeshift scaffold because someone broke one of our rules about if you had a board tacked up at quitting time you either finished nailing it up or took it down he left a board tacked with just 1 nail I stepped on it to climb down an away I went I was also at work the next day, only time I missed work was a had a surgery if your a man you never wanna have again your boys swell up to the size of grapefruit and turn black/purple man that hurt worse than the double spinal fusion surgeries I had back to back with no pain killer but Tylenol I had my back down feb 13 2019 my neck done feb 14 2019 and it was a religious hospital they almost killed my doing an ultra rapid detox on me I was on Fentanyl 75mcg 20mg Oxycodone Ir 120 a month, Valium 10mg 120 a month they kept me sedated for 8 hours the first day later I found out about the rapid detox they gave me a ton of Naloxone, Romazicon and buphenorphine all because I had a bad allergic reaction and my throughly closed up so the first thing they did was think I was OD’ing instead of checking my air way they also OD’d me on Epinephrine my PCP thinks I may have coded dues to the amount of epy they used, I had a bad seizure as well which I stayed awake through that sucked
and this was the construction company with winning lowball bid. i've been in construction for 30 years. There's alot wrong going on here. No ptdf for plate going on concrete? The anti slip or skid bracing....wtf? Laughing about dropping a wall on someone
Good try, but some wood was needed to be near the concrete to keep the structure from slipping away. And then some nail gun and 2x4 near by to nail to create stability.
Bro fr? You think someone gonna put together a tall ass wall and then purposefully drop it on top of the guy in the middle as a joke? Lmao bro that shit is heavy no joke that drop could have really hurt someone they got lucky
If u see ur studs shaking like that when u raise it drop the wall back down and look for a different job because ur unqualified secondly there should’ve been supports connecting the studs to one another
I’m inexperienced but genuinely curious, how do you stop the studs from shaking? You only have two spots you can possibly nail them into unless you put in blocking in between the studs?
@@KimJongChill If the wall is above 12' you gotta block the midspan. Thats how you stop it. But ppl do that stuff last, blocking is considered punchout. The walls, floors and roof are priority.
That was not going to stay up anyway, the studs looked a bit thin, mind you, me and the boys here in Australia had 4.5m high x 4m long frames with 90 x 45 studs ( 4 x 2 ) spaced at every 300mm ( 15in ) with 3 rows of noggins it in them. FUCK ME IT ALMOST FUCKING KILLED US, we had three of them to lift ( 3 of us ), we eventually got them up and the other frames and a freak cyclone hit over the weekend and turned the whole top floor into matchsticks, yes he does move in mysterious ways doesn’t he
Its a 3 man crew, and thats a balloon wall. You gotta be strategic when you are low on man power. On my crew we consider stuff like that punch out. We wait until the very end to focus on that stuff unless we have extra manpower.
If they would of have bolts for amchors that would of never happend, but if they had the straps that split in half, they could of nail the one on the outside to avoid thay
This is the trades these days , I was doing pickup on apartments about 2 years ago I never in my 40 years saw 30 nails in a trimmer these useless eaters need to go
John Morgan them fucking builders dont want to pay, thats what they get, is not gonna be their own house thats why they dont really care how its built, builders chasing big checks only
You don't have no problem with the framing, you have a problem with the people doing it. Quit the political correct b.s. and just keep it real. You don't like them for some reason, and who knows why..
jajajajaja look this cuachalotes .they don't know how to pick up a wall. two hands on one stud one on the top pushing. the other hand down pulling.jaja
