Everyone is asking, "why was it aired once?" "They were allowed only once to show this because between copyright and royalties, the Nanny production company didn’t have the rights to broadcast it again or to include it in other formats." and they would have to pay for the showing and Lucy's estate would also get paid, that's a lot of money!!" Hope this answer explains it well!! :)
I’ve seen the entire Nanny series several times, but have never seen this. Thank you for posting. Fran talks about her administration for Lucille Ball a lot and you can see it in her acting. What a beautiful way to honor her hero.
No problem! I'll be uploading another scene, but the scene I will be uploading was deleted from the original script! This scene will be from Season 4 Episode 1 :) stay tuned!
thank god this scene isn't lost. this is a really cool scene especially considering how high quality it was for a 90s show. i wonder why they didn't keep this scene for future airings?
they were allowed only once to show this because between copyright and royalties, the Nanny production company didn’t have the rights to broadcast it again or to include it in other formats.
I recently rewatched the entire series again! Beautifully Inspired! Without a doubt, one of the best series in TV history! - Congratulations on the excellent work! God bless you!
No wonder why when I first saw this episode I was confused by the episode description of "Fran having a talk with Lucille Ball the night before her wedding"
It must be a money issue. The outfit owning the Nanny's syndication rights doesn't want to pay out to the estate of Lucille Ball for using footage from her show. I've seen it happen on dvd releases of other series by CBS, particularly in the use of music.
This is special, what a tribute to Lucy. But if I'm not mistaken... Isn't this when Lucy found out she was expecting Little Ricky? The glow in her face gives it away. Lucy was always beautiful. So is Fran. Thank you for posting this, I've never seen it before. Take care, stay safe, have a nice day. 👵🙂✌️🖖 😷 🙉🙈🙊 🌎☮️
Lucy was Fran's inspiration for the show. It was referenced only a few times during the series, but you can see the influences in everything she does. IMO, the first obvious use of inspiration without reference was in the episode where Fran pretends to be a Candy Striper for Maggie and runs into Maxwell by accident.
I think Miss drescher is a sweet human being that has survived Hollywood and many other trials and tribulations in her life. Yes Jesus has her back how sweet.
I very much loved Niles (Daniel Davis) and those interactions with Ms. Babcock (Lauren Lane). One of my favorite scenes with Niles, is when he is dancing like Tom Cruise in ‘Risky Business’ (I prefer the Niles version).
Daniel Davis and David Hyde Pierce were both named "Niles" on their respective shows and each acted on the same show with Kelsey Grammer as "Frasier." Daniel Davis appeared once on "Cheers" and of course David Hyde Pierce spent eleven years as a "Frasier" castmate.🤔😂☕☕📺B.W.
Thank you so much for this! I watch The Nanny all the time on reruns, and when I read the little piece saying what it's about & it's saying she has a conversation with Lucy, I always wonder what happened. Now I know!
(said like an old movie gangster) Maybe they needs some convincing... For a long time, DVD releases of Married With Children didn't include the Sinatra song opening, "Love and Marriage" for the same reason. But after a while, they came around.
When I was younger, I loved the series but cringed at her voice. Now, after hearing her actual voice, I find myself fascinated by the varying range of pitches she does so easily.
It's her real voice! but she does put it on a bit! :) she also has the ability to control her voice, it's call a low slope flow! she does it in a interview in David Letterman (1996) :)
I have always thought that The Nanny was expertly cast, written, directed, and used local news ,like using Donald Trump, and the Clinton 's perfectly. The cast was chosen perfectly it was and is truly a gem I really don't think it was as appreciated then as now.I am so glad a new generation is experiencing it and loving it

That's odd because they were allowed only once to show this because between copyright and royalties, the Nanny production company didn’t have the rights to broadcast it again or to include it in other formats.
@@francinevhs Maybe those reruns were outside of U.S.? Copyright law is not the same everywhere, especially when it comes to enforcement. Some country get a copy of the original episode, dub it, and it stays like that, no matter if the U.S. version is getting changed.
They wouldn't been able to because they were allowed only once to show this because between copyright and royalties, the Nanny production company didn’t have the rights to broadcast it again or to include it in other formats.
Yes! They were allowed only once to show this because between copyright and royalties, the Nanny production company didn’t have the rights to broadcast it again or to include it in other formats.

Nice editing work. No big deal, but I hate it when the convoluted rights architecture of the industry corrupts the content when re-shown. WKRP and its music is the classic example.
Yeah, that looked a little jacked up. ILL was shot on black-and-white film three-camera style; THE NANNY was shot on video. All in all, ILL would have had the better quality image natively but here it would have gone through a video transfer step so I don't know quite what the deal is here.
Actually it was Mary Kay and Johnny 1947. Like Lucy and Desi they were married in real life, also like them they worked her pregnancy into the show and they were the first to sleep in the same bed.
I thought they always showed twin beds in the show. I read somewhere that Herman and Lily Munster we're the first TV couple to sleep together in one bed!
I don’t remember seeing Lucy, but I definitely remember hearing Fran’s lines. Did they cut it completely or just make it her thinking to herself or something?
