Fran Says No To Maxwell's Proposal! | The Nanny 

The fact that she has grown to the point of knowing that she doesn't want just a marriage but a happy loving marriage and that she deserves no less is amazing and wonderful to hear, she final knew her self worth, even if it was putting her dream on hold.

The scene between Fran and Niles is so touching, you can see how much she grew up. What a show!

Nobody talks about how Niles had professional listening devices and how he was using them to eavesdrop on their conversation

I loved how Niles kissed Fran on the head there. So sweet. I always loved their friendship. And loved how Fran finally noticed how she doesn't want max as much as she loves him she didn't want him to propose to her our of guilt. Such a sweet scene.

She got her heart broken so many times and yet she is ever the cheerful Miss Fine. I wish I could meet someone like her.

The line where Maxwell says “I’m not sure I really wanted to” show more than just I think she’s pretty. He really is in love with her because of the way he nervously says marry me. Terrific cast I love them all.

It's only four minutes but it's still so much better than full seasons of any show these days. The Nanny is a classic that never fails!!!

It was funny when Fran does accept Maxwell’s proposal, after he gets mugged and assaulted, since he says the ring is gone and she says, “I’ll kill em”

I can't get over the dialogue at 0:08: Niles: What's that? Maxwell: Soup Niles: For whom? Maxwell: Ms. Fine Niles: Where'd you get it? Maxwell: I made it. Niles: You blabbed didn't you? I love the speed of that conversation. Ha Ha Ha

Fran had some crazy character development throughout the series. Had this happened like 1 or 2 seasons earlier she probably would’ve went ahead and married him

3:33 - The moment where Maxwell started to understand Fran's sadness and confusion during the Thing IMO. She responds the way he wanted her to in the beginning when he took back what he said (basically forget about it and move on). I don't think he understood the gravity of the request until that moment. Part of me also wonders if after this Maxwell really thinks Fran is going to be okay. Niles knows she's hurt, but will put on a brave face. But now, there's more to it. All those years of false hope and trying only to be let down each time. (Maxwell proposing only to spite his mother, kissing her out of joy when she gives a stellar review of one of his shows, the billboard Valentine, always being around after bad dates or when her other relationships don't work, etc) Once she let him go of the responsibility of his actions, I think it was the beginning of him realizing how much he expected of Fran emotionally.

Oh this Max's apologies😁 I love the one when he wanted to buy her a car and asks Maggie for advice which car miss Fine would love to drive. Maggie's answer "husband's" was hillarious😂😂

Any one else kinda heart broken when Maxwell said “what?” After Fine said “ I didn’t take that seriously I just wanted to see you sweat” You could almost hear the hurt and confusion from him even if it was just to make her happy for something that he blabbed about

I love how she said "it was you" & "you thought right baby"

As much as I *love* the jokes in the show, I think this might be my favorite scene in the series. After years of just wanting to meet the social standard of marriage, she finally realizes there’s much more to it than operating on a deadline and found her self worth. Beyond the scene, I think my favorite moment is after she gives the fake laugh, she and Max exchange that glance and… oh man… it’s a wonderful piece of acting. As much as the comedy carried the show, I think moments like this elevated it. It allowed the series to be much more than the average sitcom. Such a great show! 💕

This is one of the things I love about Fran. She has a good head on her shoulders. :)

But no one is gonna comment about how sweet Niles was when he kissed her on the head because he loves her as a dear friend??😘

Best part of these scene? Both Fran and Maxwell think he proposed, not because he wanted to, but because of guilt and by the end of it, part of Maxwell knows he was wrong.

Niles' face when Maxwell and Fran are talking, he just doesn't like how Maxwell is playing her and he knows that Fran is sad inside

Niles and Fran are friendship goals ☺️💞! & idk if it’s just me but I feel like in a way Maxwell got a taste of what Fran felt when he told her he loved her and took it back

This scene proves just how much Fran and Maxwell truly love each other.

hilarious as always! but when she says "I kinda think I... deserve that" my heart broke a little.

“That last line at the end really clinches it as a cherry on top of an already perfect few scenes, all based off of a plot about washing off a mole

I wish I had someone like Fran in my life, a sister, an aunt, a friend or whatever, just someone that loving and pure in the heart

Okay yes Fran has major character development but she showed pretty early that all the marriage jokes were jokes cause Danny proposed at the end of season 1 and she eventually turned him down too. But it’s beautiful to see not only does she want Max and the kids and this life but she also wants him to be serious about what the commitment of marriage is
