@@carolinecantelmo3790 I had a lot of fun back then. I grew up on this music especially early 80s dance- club music. I was to young for the bar and clubs back then since I was born in 72. Grew up by Kings Plaza , Bergen Beach
Well I’m glad you enjoyed it . This was my time as a young women. I was born in 1958 so I was 22 years old . We danced so many nights away . Like the song says Those we’re the days . Sung by Mary Hopkins. Happy New year and good luck to you Warmest. Ms caroline
@@abrahamleon4216 The only thing John Jellybean Benitez did to the Mexican song was that he Remixed it in 1983 adding somewhat of a different and faster beat than the original Mexican song from the British rock group Babe Ruth and sang by Jenny Haan in 1979
The group was called Cavern and the song is called Liquid Liquid Grandmaster Flash Remixed it in 1983 with a faster beat. There were plenty of people Doing white lines In Studio 54, Roseland, The Fun House and Danceteria, the birth of Material girl MADONNA 😁
Yeah I saw her twice in the late 80s;once in Bay Ridge & once in L.I. She was making the club circuit back then long after this song was out.She put on a good show.
Astoria Park, Tuesday nights in the mid 80’s. Cuigines cruising the park in their Coupes and Eldorados. 😊 WNYU playing old school. How I miss those days.

I was a young (19yo) club DJ in SF and Tampa while serving in the military, going to college and starting a family. These were the good days. Music for dancing, not shooting and killing.
Cry every time I hear her voice brings back so much memories during my childhood plus she was my mom's favorite. 79-84 was a fun time growing up in EAST NEW YORK BROOKLYN 🇵🇷
France Joli I saw you at the fun house in Manhattan in 1980. I was 16 years old what a night that was. It is best voice ever!!! I wanted to see you in westchester back in February before Covid-19 came into our lives but I had a broken ankle I’m definitely going to see you live again after covid is behind us when you are in the New York area
I absolutely love her .i was introduced to her music by my older sister . is now introduced it to my children and anyone who will hang out with me and Husel
This brings back two really fantastic memories to me... I got to drive her around Provincetown when she did a guest spot there to promote "Breakaway", and the other one is the Valentine's day that I djd at the Atlantic House where every song had "Love" or "Heart" in the lyrics. I do apologize to my co-workers who were rolling their eyes, but I managed it for an entire 4 hour shift... and I would do it again, dammit!
When I was still a teen in SF and the 80’s brought changes with music, fashion and lifestyle when it was still pretty conservative in America. I grew up in San Francisco and was more exposed to funk and R&B music. Until I met a college friend that was my age in 1982 and a mobile dj and already going to clubs and exposed to this music. I lent him my big Sanyo boombox with the 2 mics attached on the ends and when he returned it, he gave me a mix tape of one of his dj set that he recorded on my boombox. I was blown away bc all the music on that tape was high energy and I never heard of before. He was straight but said that he bought all the music from the gay record stores in SF and said gay ppl. had great taste in dance music. Back then the only place that played this style of music was in the gay clubs and bars. I haven’t seen my friend Ben since 1984-85 and lost touch with him and don’t remember his last name. And want to thank him for showing me this music when many back in the early 80’s were not exposed to it. Once I started clubbing around 83, the music was everything and the djs that ruled the clubs.
Club favorite 1980. Good disco mix and great lyrics. Song of disco love and remorse. Thanks, France Joli and Prelude records.Great male disco interlude too. Not the original version, but interesting remix. Vive les disco freaks...
I never thought I was only fie years older. I seen her performance from beautiful 🤩 Canada 🇨🇦 she’s a little heavy like we all are. But he beautiful beloved voice is still the same She’s 61 years old I’m 66 years old. I saw her a boy 25 years ago she was pregnant. Always beautiful 🤩. Hi from Temple Terrace Florida. . 🇺🇸🇵🇷🇺🇸🇵🇷🇺🇸🇵🇷🕺💃🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦.
I’m a house fanatic but love a bit of France Joli! Can’t believe the house producers of the 90s never thought to use her vocal ability……would have been a refreshing change alongside the usual singers eg Jocelyn Brown, Taka Boom, India etc…. Interestingly I’ve picked up on bass lines and percussion being sampled from a few of her songs but never heard her voice sampled on any house tracks🤷🏻
My mother always played this song when I was a kid and threw the years she would say Renee this is my music before you we're Born lol I'm 43 now do you like it I said yes I love it I do this music is music not the garbage now
That is because back then music made sense. In today's world someone can go to a bathroom, literally record themselves taking a crap, record it and most likely will go platinum.
I can't get a hold on the lack of comments n likes!!!! What's wrong with people these fuckin days!!! Goodness gracious!!! Anyway what a song from Fran wow!!! An wow I Love this girl!!! Later!!!🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🐘🐼🐬🐳🐕🐻🐅🐄🐖
