Another French debate about Africa totally out of the reality , with a very approximate English as well . When will France understand that Africa don’t want it anymore ?? It’s simple , France have supported dictatorships for almost a century and it’s a bit too late now you aren’t fooling the peoples anymore . The simple fact that you are having this debate speaks for itself .Do Britain organise debate about staying or leaving India ??

Africa has answered France by kicking them out and ignoring them and focusing on trade with other countries. Cancel the CFA Franc and fully let those countries decide their developmental path for themselves. If they choose to deal with France, that will be their choice and if not, respect that and focus on the garden.

Let them leave us alone. We do not need them. We want to associate ourselves with countries that offer mutual respect.

Africa and his countries are no longer ignorant of their values , richesses, and climate. In africa Europe has been there for very long but no reel development was done except same geopolitical strategies..

As an African, let me briefly summarised the issues bordering France-Africa partnership: 1. Franc CFA, monetary currency of french speaking African countries printed in France and pegged to Euro. 2. Extreme poverty in all the french speaking African countries, the poorest countries in the world even when compared to the British counterparts. 3. Insecurity, despite increasing numbers of France military bases in Africa, the terrorist attacks on local population have increased astronomically without adequate corresponding efforts by france to respomd or share intelligence that can help curb spread of Islamic insurgency in the Sahel region of Africa. 4. France century old support for democratic dictatorship in Africa that are friendly to its interests causing the population to lose faith in democracy that is not delivering for the masses with threats of some regions to breakaway from the country example is Cameroon and Ivrory Coast. These are issues that are causing serious frictions between France and Africa relationship and making Africa to consider what is being offered by other serious competitors from around the world like China, USA, Russia, India, Turkey etc.

Just whole bunch of empty words from another French president, he could've save the speech for his country, the French foreign policies in Africa have always been disastrous since slavery

Lova Rinel makes a good point about how there is such a weird conflation of "Africa" like it's one country with one leadership and somehow France is responsible for every "western" policy in general, towards "Africa", up to and including the supposedly "unfair" level of support for Ukraine. Why is France still involved in Africa?

France has a big problem, it's the French language: It's too many words for contrary results and actions, and to circumvent the truth in the end; French is a beautiful song and that's it, but it's the story of the crow and the fox. It is when France will learn that the truth is not in what we say, in the too many words we have on our tongues, but often just in silence, in a simple look, in what we do that the results will be reflected without having to explain them, even in the French-speaking countries which, for this reason, are currently far behind the English-speaking countries in Africa. France recently financed Rwanda for $20 million in military aid under the pretext that it is to help the Rwandan army protecting French interests in Mozambique while the Report of the UN and several international organizations condemns the massacres by the Rwanda in the East of the DRC for nearly 20 years and which has already seen 10 million deaths. Where is the sincerity here when France, which chairs the United Nations Security Council, lightens the task of terrorists by helping them on the other side, even if it was far from the Congolese ground of the butchery? Now, between what France says and what it does behind the scenes…
