That last scene absolutely fucked me up. I just finished watching the season with my mom a few hours ago, and this is what’s going to be seared into my brain when I think of season 2.
That's pretty much the survival rate of newborns in some parts of Africa. Those who survive probably already got AIDS at birth and stay alive only due to medication provided by international aid. One way or another, mostly due to starvation, 30 000 children, every day. Yes, nearly the annual US gun deaths, every day. And that's just the children. More people die due to obesity than to starvation. And that's just a tiny portion of things that are truly effed up in this world. Reality is worse than horror fantasy.
the REAL francesca would never due that. She even says in the book that she is too old to carry children. This woman is ancient, several hundreds of years. Elven women can only carry a child for a very short timeframe, similar to humans but not as short. about 100-150 years. And Fil and Fran having a baby? oh god dont make me laugh. Plus she would NEVER kill innocent people. She stands for the slaughter and torture of innocent elven, she is fighting a genocide of her folk, she stands for justice and mercy. she would never harmy innocent people especially not babies.
Not to be that guy to compare GoT and The Witcher, but this scene was the equivalent of that season 2 scene where they kill King Robert's bastards. Both of them were just too fucked up to watch.

Her scream when she lost her baby broke my heart. I understand she wants revenge but the killing of the babies was wrong ofc. But I mean someone MURDERING your baby in the dead of the night is absolutely traumatizing it would fuck anyone up to that extent That’s just me tho it has nothing to do with elves doing this it’s just a mother that’s in pain because a HUMAN killed her baby
Honestly, I don't blame her for killing all the babies. Pain and trauma can make you do all the things you can't even imagine. Most of the serial killers were usually traumatised as hell, and received little to no help before that. It's not only in the witcher series but it's also a reflection of human brain.
I dont mind the way she looks the actress is beautiful. But in the books she was very powerful and old. Also clever. There was no need to make her pregnant. It seems that creatiors of Witcher series just love to kill babies .
By all mean, torture, kill, and destroy the one who murdered your baby. But the moment you kill the innocent and cause the innocent to suffer the same way you did? You're just as bad, if not worse. Because you know what that pain feels like and you know what it does to you. But you still choose through your own free will to force that agony on countless who've done nothing. You're no better then the one who forced it upon you.
That logic and moral high ground falls on deaf ears of any parents whose newborn was murdered. They cannot comprehend such talk when their grief and rage is wailing like a hurricane inside their souls.

Murderers have motives most of the time, it's a reason and an explanation for their actions. But that does not mean they are justified in killing another, even if there's a motive.

It had me thinking that her baby is a demon not an elf because Vesemir said Voleth Meir is a demon and she create a baby in Francesca's stomach, aren't her baby was created with demon magic so its not a pure born elf!
Oh sure. Starting with the Lhazarene that were sold into slavery so she can get to Westeros where the Dothraki would rape, pillage and burn, ending with her doing it herself (to be fair, minus tha raping part) via Drogon.
I don't condone infanticide, but can't say I blame her either. Humans killed her child first after all and grief does terrible things to a person. Would make someone cross a line they never would've crossed otherwise.

@Mike Merridew Argument? I'm merely stating my opinion. In her current state of mind, with her backstory and with the abilities she has many would most likely do the same regardless of race. As for the king, does he even have a child to kill? And if so who says she didn't? Also if people think of your kind as monsters that's what you eventually end up becoming. You reap what you sow as they say. Humans treated elves like crap and payback is a bitch.

They looks as much Scandinavian as they look Irish or Scottish or German. Elves come from Germanic folklore and they look just right. It’s not Tolkien.
To watch them ruining my favoruite book character of all time (Enid aen Glaenna) just to do this weird as fuck story which makes no sense, lauren will forever be on my death note, nr 1.
