Franciacorta is a sparkling wine made with grapes originally in the hills of Brescia. The harvesting takes place in the second week of August and the first week of September. It is one of the most appreciated wines by bubble-lovers, although it is much more than just a "bubbly wine". The wine has a special DOCG status also known as Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita, which means each bottle is checked and tested by the government before being packed.
Franciacorta is the sweetest wine with a sugar level of 12-17 grams per liter with the purity of fruits and a lot of benefits. The sparkling wine is Composed of chardonnay and pinot noir, a minimum of 18 months of age, and Gold yellow with fine perlage.
The wine making process includes fermentation where it is stored in a large tank and then it goes through the second fermentation for carbonation. Then the carbonated wine is ready to sell.
What makes this wine so special? How is Franciacorta produced? What is special about its production area? Find out all about this with the story behind its origin, where it is produced and the process that goes behind making it.

Hi I think that after the disgorgement the mixture of wine and sugar is called " liqueur d’éxpedition" (dosage) and not "liqueur de tirage", as you said in the video. The "liquer de tirage" is added before bottling to set off the second fermentation in the bottle to create the sparkle. Thanks.
