We cannot understand all GODS ways. There are some judgmental and self-righteousness comments posted here regarding Francis & Kirks conversation. Jesus said do not judge your brother. Pray for those who may be led astray. There is none who are righteous not any of us. We all need forgiveness. God the Father, Jesus His Son & the Holy Spirit can still speak to us , generally through the Bible but who are we to limit GOD. The Father is looking for humility and im really trying to do this myself. The church will never have unity if we keep debating over these opinions. I hear God speak to me regularly, and the things He tells me have come to pass. It wasn't an audible voice, but His words are downloaded in my thoughts. Sometimes about others & at times it's direction for me.

Praying at side of bed at night, speaking to Jesus like a friend, is all you need for Jesus to know your heart and mind.

I hear him through the spirit when I pray, when I'm studying or working on a message,I speak audibly but he speaks mentally and I see visions of what is to come but always make sure it's backed up by scripture.

I pray everyday that God will talk to me like he does to you and Francis Chan. I am hungry for God guiedence and some how i just fall short of it in my life. I dont know what goes wrong, I just dont feel God in my life sometimes, and all I want is God in my life

Why in the world WOULDN’T we be able to hear from God as His children?? I agree we have to be very very discerning and know Scripture well enough that we can differentiate His voice from others. I agree that Scripture is where we learn His voice. One of the greatest strengths and hopes of my life is that His Holy Spirit literally lives inside me and keeps me with Him. I have never audibly heard the voice of God, but I have known His “voice”. He had been kind enough to make it unmistakable when I needed Him to. ❤.

One thing I notice that in most circles seems to be rare, and that is the fact that at the resurrection of Jesus Christ, every person that died with Him was begotten again in that resurrection and there is no one that Christ is not in or is not in Christ. Paul said it clearly in Athens, that we are all offspring of God and in Him we live and move and have our being. That is so simple and straight forward, why is it so difficult for western thinking people to grasp?

I generally don't have to struggle, hem and haw, and put a huge amount of effort into hearing my best friend, Fred. This is why I think many Christians need to be far more humble and circumspect in the kind of claims they make about Jesus as their best friend ever, walking and talking with God, and hearing his voice. It seems to take a lot of work and a lot of practice. Here is a good book on the topic titled:- "How God Becomes Real: Kindling the Presence of Invisible Others" And despite all that work, believers still cannot agree on so many issues they pray over. That's another reason for being more humble, and less judgemental of others.

Kirk, Francis Chan promotes Contemplate prayer, he has done it, promotes it. Contemplative prayer is used to hear God's voice. It promotes emptying your mind ( which is umbilical). He promotes the "Desert Father's". Richard Foster he promotes, which is a return to the "mother church". Catholicism. Please take the time to look more closely at Francis Chan, and his drifting away from The Truth. Look who he has surrounded himself with in the past, and does surround himself with currently. Also, I was appalled that you had Doug Wilson on your show. Doug Wilson's church in Moscow Idaho is considered a cult ( this is from born again believers who haves lived there for many years). My 3 adult children are invovled with a church in the greater Seattle area that follows Doug Wilson's philosophies. It has brought nothing but the same bad fruit he has produced in his church. On a more positive note.... I loved "LifeMark". It was a great encouragement to a group of believers at our church. I forwarded the documentary also to them *I lived on Parker Av" . This is a bit sad, because if you believe God is our Father then we have to ask does a Father communicate or just sit silent? I have been a Father for 19 years now and I communicate at every level with my boys. I don't sit silent day in and day out! He is constantly speaking to you, daily! And it is sad when our Christian leaders who have such strong following doubt so greatly the basic foundations of our faith. Maybe this is what Paul meant when he said that the believers weren't ready for anything besides milk. Father God, don't let us as the body believe the lies that you aren't speaking daily!

I'm sorry to say that I am going to unsubscibe from this channel. I have been perplexed to see these so called "pastors " on your show! This Chan guy is a heretical guy who is not teaching the whole word of God. I have seen him involved in some weird services. There were a couple more as well recently.
