Great song, great guy, great memories. Piledriver, Hello, Quo, On The Level, Blue for You: The best run of albums by ANY rock band. Criticised for sounding the same yet each of those albums has it's own unique sound and style. They also provided the bedrock for the most enduring live set, which at it's best was proper ear-splitting, head banging heavy rock. Music legends who have been musically underrated on an epic scale.. sadly the band and their management had a major hand in all that. But that aside, it's great that FR (my absolute hero as a young lad in the 70s) has lived through it all and is still able to entertain us today. Never met thet guy but wish I could, to say 'thank-you'.
Lovely stuff. I remember rushing home with the album all those years ago and blasting the house to bits. So many memories from that time...thank you for all the years, the tunes, the jokes, the smiles and the love you have spread...
Francis I saw you in Krefeld on Monday and enjoyed your guitar solo. It was really fantastic. For me you are simply the best lead guitarist ever. The very energetic show also enchanted me and I hope that Status Quo and above all you will continue for a long time to come. You are just likeable and I like you very much. ❤
incredibly under rated . just the solo for backwater alone puts him into the great ..category . his blues playing on unspoken words is as good as clapton ,green. rory kossof .any of the blues british guys , his solos on the 70s classic stuff are melodic genius . .anyone who knows music would realise this . its usually people who dont even know what a chord is that dont appreciate how good he was . doing mostly poor stuff and rehashing the old stuff only not as well since the 70s hasnt helped his rating .
Shame they didn't sing many of their classics (including this one,) on their recent tour. PIledriver must be one of the best Blues/Rock albums ever recorded.
