Reminds me of when the Summit Venture hit the Sunshine Skyway bridge in FL decades ago. That one was far worse, and it was a completely preventable human error accident.
I find it interesting that the FBI ruled it NOT a terrorist attack. OK so you completed an investigation in under 12 hours. That’s pretty fast to conclude things. I pray for the people of the Baltimore area.
Praying for the people who were driving over the bridge at the time. Good morning JJ. On an unrelated topic can you clarify if flashlights will be affected by an EMP? I saw on another you tube channel that they would be so i decided to ask the expert. Stay safe brother in blue.
Boat was operated by the local pilot - who is a pro that makes this run daily and works for the county. These people board the boat in the harbor and take over for the captain. . Could be wind, power outage, GPS signal, GPS equipment problem (they are using gps at night) radar etc. Anything could be at fault
There's a 54 second video of the impact on social media, it's a 5 minute security camera type capture sped up in a 54 second clip. From this angle, it looked like the ship changed course and hit the support front on. Camera is stationary with a view of the bridge, an almost perpendicular view of the bridge. When the ship enters the frame, you can its broad size, but when the ship hits that support column, the front of the ship is facing almost directly at the camera.
The footage of the collapse makes it look intentional. The ship runs up to the footing of the bridge and sits perpendicularly to it. Then more and more smoke come out of its smoke stack and a huge surge of water rises in front of the ship and the bridge collapses
I know that getting a CDL and your hazmat license is a lot more difficult than it used to be. There’s a lot more hoops you have to jump through versus when I initially got mine. So I cannot imagine somebody running a barge on our waterways not being also governed by department of Homeland security.
@@RealitySurvival well you also have to take into consideration once you get the license to haul hazmat you don’t have to do anything but show knowledge not skills. That’s up to the company that you work for and if they let somebody drive, who is an incompetent moron, which we have plenty of those on the road, I can see your concern but when you have drivers like me, I can haul anything and do it without hitting a bridge.
There was a train that got derailed years back when a ship crashed into and collapsed a bridge. Forget the name of it, but it was on one of those disaster YT channels.
#1 ship master was a Ukrainian ...Hmmmmmmm...#2 that bridge fell like immediately so one support and the entire thing falls? #3 how da hell do you slide a ship sideways and hit the support trying to steer away from it,,,,,,,
