Thank you VERY MUCH!!! I live an about 26 miles away (as a crow flies) from a nuclear plant (Grand Gulf near Port Gibson, Mississippi). I have seen multiple prepping “experts” all saying that living within 50 miles (1 claims 100 miles) of one is doomed after an EMP or cyberattack! Like you mentioned I read a bunch of articles written by journalists saying much the same. I’ve gotten old and have some health problems (multiple sclerosis and severe arthritis). For me moving away really isn’t an option. As if I didn’t have enough worries with everything happening in our country and around the world, that one had been gnawing away at me. I appreciate you and you’ve earned a new subscriber!
POWER DOWN is grid down ...fuel generators,solar and wind on a household spec will not keep you up and running unless you have a lifetime supply of fuel ten acres of wind turbines or an acre of solar panels and a terawatt of storage. So in SHTF scenario an AM transceiver with a good antenna tower are much more reliable ... sat phones can be turned off by having the on board transponders turned off ... our government says they have that right in "emergency authorization"
All post office 1970 and before were built as Nuke Shelters.the walls were made 3 ft thick.get in the basement and stay there.they use to be kept stocked with food and water.but probably not today.if you can't get to the post office go to the school basement or library basement with no windows.keep water in your car at all times in case a Attack happens when you are not home.
A PVC box with a LED light filled with black epoxy is NOT military grade.. total BS. If a nuke goes off close enough to me where an emp would effect me, the last thing im worried about is if my tv is fried
Definitely. It has a lot more usable features than the Kodiak did. But the technology has come a long way. So the new Inergy units might also be good. I just have t had the chance to review them.
What a great idea. Thanks for sharing. Thoughts…what if government wants to take resources including food storage and supplies, animals for state of emergency? Can they take over farms and ranches like this if it’s a collapse and resources become scarce? Given this is so well publicized it may become a government target.
The National Guard would not support government raids on stealing from people, and the people, including Fortitude Ranch would fight this, not give up. Whether its a government group or criminal marauders, if they are stealing your food in a collapse you'll die--will fight both.

Been testing couple things over the years with different results. Straight sea-foam keeps wax balls from forming and the combustion chamber clean but it would leave a water line and corrosion in the bottom of the carb. 4 parts Sea-foam to 1 part k100 fixed the water line issue but still leaves a chalky residue throughout the carb that has interfered with lowspeed jets causing surging. I think I'll try marvel mystery oil with pri-g and see if that fixes everything and will be much cheaper. Takes a couple years to find out though. I have a few simplicity tractors that run less than 5 gallons of fuel threw them per year. I usually buy a new carb when changing addatives to start with clean slate😉 👍
So how is the box holding up. I have used the spray contact before, that says to spray both sides then dry a few minutes then place together. Even then after some time it started failing and the two came apart. So just checking in one if its still holding up.. nice vide and I have a couple of the fabric kits with tape and the foam type gasket to work with.

The water inside would not be. But the exterior of the barrel would be. So you would need to make sure you carefully decontaminate the exterior of the barrel before getting water out of it.
I use corrugated metal storm shutter panels, and my windows are recessed. It would take a great force to flex the panels inward enough to break the glass. I have nothing against interior shutters for the purposes described. But, since my primary need is storm protection, and storage space is very limited, I have to choose one, the exterior type.

Those cheap panels are from companies that were bankrupt because of lawsuits. They are only 20 to 30% efficient of their ratings.. they are ordered by court to take the down from customers houses. Loaded on a white box truck and sold very cheap.. though they are cheap, they won't ascertain a good charge for your battery bank. Look it up.
