Interesting story that I believe I heard on the Food Network. Years ago, banks did not want to lend to people opening restaurants because restaurants have a high failure rate but they were more than willing to lend to open a gas station. So people opened gas stations so they could have their restaurant. That's why there are so many hidden gems that you find at a gas station where you least expect it! I recently found your channel and have been marathoning your videos. You're a great couple and your videos are both entertaining and informative!
It is a huge sandwich. I wish they would put the tomatoes in a different package. Because it made the bread a little wet. But it is a good sandwich. 😎😎

I,agree,more onions,and your suggestion regarding the tomatoes, is quite accurate,it does make the sandwich " soggy," Bobby.I use to make subs for a deli in St.Louis,MO.and the owner expressed the reason for not putting tomatoes on the sub sandwiches,for that reason.😊😊😊😊
OMG what a great price! Could easily feed 5 people even. Look at the slice of the home grown tomatoes. Once you add lettuce and the relish it completes that sandwich. Looks delicious. Next time I'm in town I'll have to stop by and purchase something. Thank you for the video
@@jbinthehills, oh yes I thought it was cool to see the counter with the booth seats &table i just love that kinda vibe, I know when I was out &about doing my travel nursing in the rural area's of ga you could drive for miles on a country road and come up on a gas station in the middle of nowhere and they would have a grill and seats to sit and grab a bite and the food was always good and hot , so I would often spend my break in one of those places then hit the road. Brings back alot of great memories. 👍

I totally agree with Bobbie the tomatoes need to be on the side and I like the spicy mustard instead of mayo, it's not a sub until you have lettuce, onion, jalapeno, and olive it looked awesome what you guys had heck the bag of chips alone is probably$4. Great Job guys🤙🇺🇸

Yes, that's an incredible deal! I stopped in on my visit to get a Dollys slaw dog, it was good and waitress said her people had been in the day before. I didn't know I could sit out back with the geese, next time I'd love to do that. I really enjoyed my visit there, thanks again my favorite Smoky mtn foodies!!
I have been craving an Italian hoagie. I am going to get one on Friday. What I didn't like about your sandwich was there was not enough meat or onion and there was far too much bread. I would cut that sandwich in half and take everything from the one side and put it in the other side. And then throw out all that extra bread. Bread is really bad for you in so many ways. It makes you gain weight and it also can give you diabetes if you eat too much of it. Thanks for taking us there!! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🌹
Id take that sandwich double up the meat and get rid of half of the bread and you’d have yourself a thick meaty sandwich!! Every time I hear Sevierville it makes me think of the Moonshiners Tv show. Maybe someday you’ll run into Digger or Mark!!
Frank Allen buys high quality produce. Those tomatoes looked like homegrown heirloom tomatoes. They could have just gone the cardboard Sysco type but put the effort into providing a good product. No wonder Dolly is a customer. PS, I guess you will have to order extra onions next time! That was a real shortage of onions.
The tomato’s were very good just didn’t look in video because the bread took the juice out on the top. They had a great fresh flavor. Love this place for everything.😎😎
That sub looked delicious! I like that they gave you lettuce, pickles and jalapeños by request plus the spicy relish came with it. I can’t eat jalapeños or spicy foods but it’s a nice option for whoever can eat spicy like John! lol It’s a great deal and I agree it’s a good budget meal and perfect for pic-nic dining and for a family! Nice little grill! Frank Allen's Grill! Great Value for up to 4 people!!!! A 2 ft. Sub, lettuce, jalapeños, hot sauce, package of Lay's barbecue chips, a liter of Pepsi, and a 6-pack of Reese's cups. Love that it's locally owned since 1953. Very nice grill and store. I would get the slaw dog and chili dog plus cheeseburger to go. Heat burger back up. Then out fixins' back on the nxt day!
This be a great lunch to pick up when you just get into town, take back to hotel or cabin and relax till dinner lol Great deal for families! I wonder if price has gone up since this video? I'm just watching a bunch of yalls older videos tonight 😀

An amazing deal. I can’t believe how cheap the gas is there. We are paying over $5 a gallon here. The geese walking around in the background was cute. Thank you two for sharing the video. Love and look forward to them.
We call those Canadian Cobra Chickens. Its why Canadians are all so nice, we put all the rage in the Cobra Chickens lol But what a great deal. Cant get anything that cheap nowadays.

I would totally buy that to take to the pool! Cheaper than buying stuff to have to lug home from the fridge in the condo and way cheaper then buying your own. Everything doesn't have to be fancy or expensive. I'm saving this to favs. I'll be down over the July holiday.
Wow that sub was huge. What a great deal. Plus the sub had just the right amount of lunch meat inside. Don't like my hoagies packed with too much lunch meat. I would definitely try the hot relish but I do like my Mayo. Thanks for the review guys 😎😎

One thing they could probably do is put between the cheese and the meat minion tomato. So won't be getting soggy. But they need more onions green peppers

As a bread addict, I love the bread on that sub! The tomatoes have seen better days, I think. I am opposite of you - no onions need apply for me lol, but they didn't add many! As soon as I saw the Mallards/Canadian Geese, I knew you might be in trouble. They are surrounding you! haha They can be nutso! King-size candies are more a gas station thing - love Reese's and love BBQ chips! Great choices! Love 3 Musketeers too!
You got that right John about the chips they don't fill those chip bags like they use to looks like a good sandwich would you say 4 Adult could eat it ?
All though soda isn't the best for us, I'm glad you both don't consume aspartame aka diet soda which is undoubtedly poison 😢😢 On a positive not , I'm hoping you two terrific people will seriously consider coming to Connecticut for a summer trip and would love to see the reviews of southern New England.
