At last !!! The legendary duet at Birdland ! What a thrill !!! Thank you Frank, thank you Vinnie for allowing us to see you playing with the same joy as before !
Frank and Vinny, your appearances at Ignition Music Garage, in Goshen, Indiana, in early 2019 and early 2020 were musical highlights in the lives of me and my friends. Come back, come back!!

Really great show...What a pleasure to watch. I saw Ted Rosenthal at the Musical Instruments Museum two weeks ago. If it weren't for Guitar Night, I wouldn't have known who he is....All the guys can really play...and Mr. Pizzarelli is always great fun. Good to see him play some excellent guitar
Last Saturday (Jan 27, 2024) , in San Angelo Texas, I was fortunate to hear Frank, Vinnie, and Gary play a set with the San Angelo Symphony. I was thinking: This concert hall is not exactly intimate. What I would not give to hear the trio play in a club setting. So, here I am , belatedly enjoying their company again. My disappointment Saturday was that Frank & co did not play after the intermission. I guess a 40 min jazz set was as good as I was going to get in west Texas. But, I will always have these Birdland sessions. I have some video binging to do.
I loved this -- particularly when John Pizzarelli joined in -- It just looks like they are all good friends having fun -great chemistry. Keep Vinnie & John on the invite list please Frank. In the future it would be great to invite Mimi Fox on at some point. Do you think you could get Pat Metheny or Bela Fleck on since they both live in NYC, I think?
I've watched a lot of these Guitar Night videos. They are fantastic. What I find interesting is that Vinnie is playing a full hollow body guitar, an acoustic guitar. I'm not up on all the terminology. But Frank and the other players are playing those big hollow body electric guitars. Except Mike Stern who plays a solid body electric. They all sound good to me. I don't see many people play an acoustic guitar like Vinnie has and does. He sounds like the other guitars.
So wonderful the music from all musicians, so many interruptions in the video stream. Really sad! Maybe RadioFreeBirdland could be so kind to re-stream this great concert.

Vinnie has very good taste in guitars. How he can play those lines, particularly up high, on an acoustic is a mystery to me, lol....Collings makes great guitars. I have one of their electrics....
