How do you have KD, Booker, and Beal, and still get swept? That takes some serious talent to do

Because he doesnt know how to run an offense. Only defense.
@Mountain-em1oq
@Mountain-em1oq Месяц назад
Well, maybe those 3 guys are not top grade players. They can score, but you need to play some type of defense. Also, the Suns are a small team, Durant is tall but lacks strength to guard in the paint

@@Mountain-em1oq Well they obviously played defense since they were 10th defensively in their last 10 games and 13th overall by the time the season ended.

He can’t do what he wants with the defense with nurkic on this team we have to find a rim running big man that can actually MOVE!

Who would've thought a starting lineup consisting of 3 shooting guards, a 7 footer who averages 6 rebounds, and Jusuf Nurkic, would get swept

Bro we got done in 4 straight games we were 3 and 0 in the regular season. What did we change, we ain’t gonna stop certain players but have to find a way to slow them down, make them a passer, how many times did we trap Edward’s? Forcing him to pass?

@capcomfan303 Месяц назад
@ki2726 Monty Never Lost the Lockeroom, hmm let's see. Jae Crowder sitting out the whole season, Ayton and Monty didn't even talk for a whole season. Oh how about Monty Playing favorites, I guess you forgot about all that. Monty may have been better than Frank if you comparing the 2 coaches but when you really think about it, is that really fair to compare when Monty was given 3 seasons to Vogel's 1. Phoenix had 2 blowout losses under Monty and everyone blamed him and wanted him fired, ok cool. Hire Frank, they underachieve so badly that they want to ditch Frank after 1 season. What's the common denominator. The guys or one guy who has remained on the team. Even if they get a hypothetical better coach the end result will still be the same until one of the star player takes accountability, stops throwing their failures on everyone else and soley on themselves. Also I would like to see who the real leader of their team is. Enough of this lead by example bs, Did yall see clips of how Ant man, at the age of 22 was vocally leading, that should be an indictment on KD, Booker, and Brad but mostly the main 2 in KD and Booker.
@smoothsavage2870
@smoothsavage2870 Месяц назад
@@capcomfan303 Tell me what a coach's job is. I dont see you saying much about what the coach's role is aside from "no new coach will fix this" or "it's the superstar's fault". Most people i've seen that say "nope it's the superstars", dont even know what the coach is even there for. Just so you know, it's not just to keep players in check.

After Ayton requested a trade, Frank instantly became a bad fit for this roster. The Suns had already committed to him though, so they were stuck. Frank needs bigs and the Suns didnt give him any great ones. So it's partially on Frank, but also the FO for not replacing Ayton with what he needed. Nurkic did ok, but he wasnt the defensive anchor Frank needs.
@ShawnMott
@ShawnMott Месяц назад
You’ve mentioned DA a bunch in these comments, I feel you’re over estimating his impact on D. He intimidated literally no one at the basket. He was better in open space, but I’d trade that for Nurks playmaking ability and strengths against other bigs. The Suns problem on D wasn’t interior, it was the perimeter players that were awful. Book, Beal, KD, Gordon and yes Grayson. They were constantly beat, rotating poorly, caught not paying attention being cut backdoor leaving Nurk exposed. Frank was supposed to be the defensive coach but they were terrible on that side of the ball. He and his staff were terrible at a number of things, that defense was inexcusable.
@smoothsavage2870
@smoothsavage2870 Месяц назад
@@ShawnMott I keep mentioning DA because of Frank's history with big men, which is a HUGE reason his defenses were top 3 during his best seasons. You watch Frank when he was with the Pacers and the Lakers? His top defenses were because he had bigs like AD, Javale McGee, Dwight Howard, Roy Hibbert. Frank's defense doesnt exist if he doesnt have bigs similar to them. Nurk got exposed, but those other guys had people scared to go to the paint. Frank ALSO has generally been historically terrible on the offensive end. He could get away with that because of how well his defenses usually are. Frank's defenses always came with a certain type of big that he usually molds into what he needs.
@ShawnMott
@ShawnMott Месяц назад
@@smoothsavage2870 Yes, I’m very aware of his history with D. What I’m saying is that DA is none of those guys you mentioned. He didn’t scare anyone in the paint either. In other words with this team, I think Nurk is an infinitely better player. Ask the folks in Portland how they feel about the DA trade. There are a number of things I thought he could’ve tried this season. For instance, I would’ve like to see him play Nurk along side one of the other F/C [not Eubanks]on the roster leaving KD at the 3. Not all the time, but in certain situations, like against the Wolves. He never did that. Instead he went small. I just think he lacked creativity and understanding of what he had on his roster.
@smoothsavage2870
@smoothsavage2870 Месяц назад
@@ShawnMott I hear exactly what you're saying on Ayton and i dont disagree. But my line of thinking was that his attitude might've changed once he saw that he was a very vital part of whatever it is Frank was trying to implement. That was his whole issue in the first place right? I also agree that Frank lacked creativity for this roster.
