two legends cementing themselves for a sport that was about to take the world by storm and they did not even know they are laying the stones for future champs there just in there doing what they do best
@@oldmanknowsnothing5005 Wow, that's fascinating for real. Thanks for taking the time to explain that. How come you know these rules so well ? Did you follow Pancrase ? I remember catching a few fights here, I think maybe Fedor fought in Pancrase but I might be mixing that up with another Japanese promotion. So are kicks allowed ? Or, what are the rules relating to kicks ? Because I saw a few but there wasn't anything too hectic, they looked a bit perfunctory, basically early on when they were on their feet. But TBH I haven't watched much of either fighter, so maybe that's just their style. It seems to encourage grappling which is cool to see. Or would that just be the nature of these two ? Cheers bud
@@oldmanknowsnothing5005 Sick, nice. Appreciate it bro. Yeah Bas is awesome, very funny dude. Do you fight ? I've been watching MMA for a while but watch it way more since I started rolling, just basically to get an understanding of certain moves, maneuvers, escapes, that type of thing.
@@oldmanknowsnothing5005 Hahaha, yeah I've acted the fool a few times at the gym. Actually I'm pretty useless and a slow learner. I've only been doing BJJ for about 6 months. I started Muay Thai and have done that for like a month. I try to go in most days because I feel like No Gi, Gi and Muay Thai are good combinations. How long were you doing Muay Thai for ? And BJJ ? My instructor is pretty chill, but I know that feeling of being embarassed, actually I get it every time I go in. It's part of the reason I do MMA, so I can basically be in a place where I can't avoid doing difficult tasks. Maybe there's another gym you can go to ? Depends on who you are, but if you picked it back up again you will probably remember lots of the stuff from a few years back. TBH tho, I reckon get it in while you can. I'm in my mid 30s and I've had a few strains and mild injuries, but it just gets harder as you get older. That's my experience. And you wanna do amateur fights ? Absolutely bro, go for it. I wish I was younger, I'm pretty much over the capacity to fight now (outside competitions and the gym) but I'd love to do it. Must take things to a whole new level being in the cage.
Frank said back then all he felt confident in doing was a double leg takedown and another wrestler (Maybe Funaki or Suzuki) Told him good do that as Bas doesn't know anything about wrestling, so he did and he ended up winning.
@@gjergjjiim1615 This particular match looks very calm, so not sure of the rules here, but I think in general (in pancrase) they can do open hand hits to the head and closed hand hits to other parts of body. But since they're not hitting here, this could have been some other rules. Pancrase also had rules on when they can do knees.
