Frank einfach genial. Seit 1975 bin ich Fan. Meine erste Platte war von Frank. Mein leider nicht mehr lebende Mann war noch früher ein Fan. Er hat zu mind. 80% alle Platten. Vermisse solche super Musik ❤
At 0:24 you hear George say "mental telepathy", then Napoleon goes into "What would you like, what would you like" right on beat and then you know the shit is on with this improv. One of the finest examples of onstage banter ever. I just wish I knew some of the in jokes.
who the hell else could write music like stravin sky, bernstein john wiiliams ,sabbath zepplin, play guitar as good as henrdrix and run for president all at the same time??Answer:NO ONE!!!
what an amazing band ! napoleon murphy is the most quintessentiel black guy of the seventies ..zappa gathers the most perfect musicians and singers around him ! flawless!
“A drug is not bad. A drug is a chemical compound. The problem comes in when people who take drugs treat them like a license to behave like an asshole.” ― Frank Zappa
thank you for posting! i have the entire concert this was taken from, click me damnit. its called "a token of his extreme" i am rabid Zappa. i advocate breaking into The Vault with due Force, holding Gail hostage, and liberating the Roxy films. 16mm, superb audio, FZ mix, the Rosetta Stone of Zappa Perfection... a Film copy of the Roxy show. and totally... no "garnee du jour" whatsoever. no wrinkled carrot, no twisted celery no sog, no saran, no plastic. we understand Frank. we want Frank.
One of the best touring bands Frank recruited. I had the opportunity to see this lineup about 1974. This sounds like the dialogue they used in between the song "Pygmy Twilight" from the Roxy and Elsewhwere live record.
@IGotVirus, I am responsible for most of your views. If there's any gig I wished I could have gone to, it's this. I love all of the iterations of the band, but this is such a special lineup. Thanks for the upload!
He never used LSD or cocaine, and he didn't get any pleasure from marijuana. And I remember his band members saying he didn't allow drug use during their work either. Not sure whose biography you read, but it wasn't Zappa's.
Frank The Great : A musical genius who was way, way ahead of his time & way ahead of the majority of somewhat 'simplistic' mainstream commercial audiences of the day. A once-in-a-lifetime gifted talent .. in the same league, in his own particular way, as the equally-unique, equally-gifted & mega-legendary Brian Wilson.
I love this video. FZ & Napolian Murphy Brock are hilarious here. Frank Zappa was a total genious. I miss him. No one could do parodies like him. I"ll ALWAYS be a hardcore Frank Zappa fanatic. RIP Frank.
This is just classic. One time, Frank was asked by someone (a host of some show) how they should introduce him, and he said, "National treasure." God I miss him.
Not competable. I was too young to see these shows back in mid 70s, but I was lucky to see him touring at least 5 times in the 80s. This IS and was the most interesting, funny and best performance Frank did those days. Laughs all over, solid musicianship and entertaining as hell.
