This song needs to resurface and be blared , Today 2024 in this my space and don't invade it society human touch and love has become an act of repulsion , Sad indeed .
What happened to Europe? I'm curious. This may have nothing to do with what you are thinking, but in the early and mid 90s I heard that musicians could actually make a living doing music there and actually be respected for it. I'm a classical musician. I don't know if that applied to other music or not. But that blew my mind because in the US it is extremely difficult to make a living from music. There is just not enough work and there are just not enough people interested, especially in classical music. We are also often seen as fools and shamefully impractical for even trying. I'm wondering if Europe is the same now as it was back then. It's the heart of Western culture. I would hate to see that disappear. I hate to see any culture disappear.
When I was a teenager, to me Holly Johnson was God ! Still is. As much as two tribes and relax were classics, this was perfection. One of the all time great ballads.

I first heard this song in 1985 when I purchased the Pleasure Dome album. I knew then... 40 years ago that this song would be an important part of my life, and it is. I'm getting married in 2024, and picked this as our wedding song.

I worked in a nightclub serving food in Ireland when this came out. I was only 16 then( my father would have gone mad if he knew!) but I remember being very moved by this song…. I’d sit in a corner listening while the slow sets were on waiting to collect the plates!😆

When i listen to this song, i am instantly transferred back to my 18th birthday. My friends and i were at the Monastery dance club in Seattle, when i heard this song for the very first time. I can still smell the clove cigarettes and Aquanet hairspray. Oh what an exciting time of life! I really do miss it sometimes.
