Nah, it's just a little bit more sophisticated than the bubblegum pop you fancy now. It takes a little longer to appreciate the jazzy soulful choice of house here, but if you're lucky, you'll get there one day. Then you'll understand.
Hello and great call. Sir Francis has us dancing around the house and the world too by sharing this. Man was a force who challenged and changed. This stuff helped us get through bad times and is worth more. Foots tapped by our oldies who can still cut a rug if needed in their 80s and 90s. Play this on the Moon when we go back. Engineers Can Dance, The Minute Men from late 80s. House forever, peace and Night from us
Frankie the House Music God…Those who know know. Absolute sound vibration experience. I experienced this many Saturday nights during the eighties at The Warehouse. Chi-Town stand up!!!
never seen such a bunch of deadheads as you say they don't understand what an honour it is to be in the same room as the GOAT when it comes to house i'm sure there are thousand out there who would give anything to be there
There are people who make the world better only living in it: You have been one of them! For years, You have entertained us with your amazing music, and I'll remember you for the rest of my life. I really miss you. Rest in peace, Dear Frankie Knukles.
Look, don't let no one kill your energy. I remember going to the house sets in Chi-Town back in the day and man if no one else was dancing, me and the fellas would get it started. Usually a fine honey would come right out there with you and start partying too. Bump the rest of the chumps!!!
NYC in the house! We were right there in 1985, 86 banging with Tony Humphries on Friday and Saturday nights after 2a. Smooth. I still have cassette tapes with his shows, I gotta get those put on cd before they demagnetize!
@@Skiman94 the tapes don't demagnetize. Demagnetize is something you do when the Head Roller in the cassette player becomes magnetized and can cause the tape to get jammed in the cassette player. Even that's an easy fix, a little white alcohol on a q tip, with the tape door open, and on Play, with the Q tip cleaning the magnetic particles from the wheel, and also the metal roller. I know all the inside outs of cassettes and still have hundreds from back when I did mixtapes in the 80s. I've taken them apart and completely fixed popped tapes as well. House music wise, check out The Fun House Show Live. It has classic house tracks and current. The dj on there spins like a new York dj, all about the mix. You can Google or go to mixcloud. It's worth it to hear.
So happy I got to see him play live before he died. Admired his music for 20-odd years. One of the true legends of House music who brought so much joy to the scene. RIP Frankie.
REST IN PARADISE MY DEAR LEGEND & FATHER OF HOUSE MUSIC...WE WILL PLAY YOUR MUSIC INFINITELY..THANK YOU AND MAY THE HIGH MOST SHOW YOUR FAMILY HOW MUCH YOU MEANT TO THE ENTIRE HOUSE MUSIC COMMUNITY AND THE MUSIC INDUSTRY...YOU HAD MORE THAN A VISION, YOU HAD ACTION, CREATIVITY, KINDNESS AND STRENGTH TO INVENT & CREATED HISTORY...WE LOVE AND WILL MISS YOU IMMENSELY...#TEARS...-DJ CHAMPAGNE...PEACE
Well said. There will never be someone remotely as talented as Frankie Knuckles. I had the privilege to meet him and dance to his music at the Sound Factory Bar in NYC in the late 90's.
13:40 god damn! Such a master's touch...how he cleared the way, grabbed their attention then dropped that Lou Rawls gem! House Music 'till the day I die. See you soon, Frankie.
RIP FK... you brought me some serious vibes ever since I started listening to house and DJing from when I was about 14 yrs! Wow, 30 years later and here I am listening to you on Boiler Room!
the beauty of house music is that its timeless 2013 to 2021 its still bangin..Frankie was truly a master at his craft, the transitions the effects and the record selection next level
Today is indeed a sad day, but then you listen to one of his sets that are so full of love and just thank God that He shared Frankie with us. RIP godfather, family and friends and thank you SO much for all you've contributed.
This speaks volume of the kind of gent he was and his love for music. No matter if its a packed house or a small group, Frankie Knuckles will play from his heart!! I love that! Miss u FK!!
+Malcolm Coghill I thought this crowd was pretty good. You can tell everyone's hot and crowded. I think my upstairs bathroom is bigger than this venue. ;) P.S. Fantastic blends by Knuckles!
I remember being introduced to Seep House music 24 yrs ago, darkest moments in my life....this music have me hope...uplifted me...i been listening since. Frankie was a hige part ofy life then and now. Music is the answer!
This mix is incredible. I don't think I ever heard anybody mix old soul into the middle of a dance set like that. The opening/closing maybe but never the middle. That dude was truly a master.
FRANKIE YOUR SMILE, YOUR KINDNESS, YOUR GIFT IT MOVED ME FROM THE MOMENT I MET YOU, AND WILL STAY WITH ME UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN..... I LOVE YOU FRANKIE..... WHISTLE IN PARADISE MY FRIEND. #frankieknuckles
It's a rainy Saturday morning along the UK south coast, looking out my garden window onto the beach the sea's nothing but grey but this mix is doing it for me!!

My Condolences to the friends and family of Frankie Knuckles a true DJ and Producer of House music. Opened many doors to an army of Dj producers and artist of this genre of music.
No effects, no scratching, no unnecessary knob-adjusting, no jumping around like he's having convulsions, not even any engagement with the crowd. He just lets the music speak for itself. RIP
Just lying back and chilling Knuckles. My day is sad but also feel good. U made me dance and now I cry but in a good way. Sleep brother but until I take my last breath I will be shuffling to your tunes. I had many a good woman grinding and a finding to u. Keep da beat and god give him a deck cos all the people we lost and loved gonna be grooving . Even my Nana gonna be throwing some moves. R.I.P big man that tune Tears is how I feel
makes me sad the party goes on without him, but makes me happy I got a chance to dance my ass off when the music was amazing, courtesy of this man right here...God Bless you Frankie....great soul! Thank you! one of the reasons I love House Music!
If anyone is wondering why people get upset that the folks behind aren't jumping around enough it's because they are passionate about Frankie and his legacy. Simply enjoy the music and if interested go read up on Frankie and why he's regarded by many as the Godfather of house, he was a special person who gave us so much and my hero I never met. RIP Mr Knuckles 🧎
iff you can't feel the happiness of disco then you don't understand the reason for music, I know what Im saying cause Im a musician my self and making a joy full disco track is so realesing and fun
RIP Frankie, here is a real DJ who knows how to please the ear, tempo variation, creative mixing, great selection of songs, styles of music, imagination, great skills, a professional, what else can I say. RU-vid has a lot of clowns just throwing a tempo, gorgeous girls just showing themselves, which is great but no DJ skills, they are making believe they are turning dials and potentiometers, that is not DJ stuff. Thank you Mr. Knuckles.
Saw this great man with my big sis NYE 2013, The Hacienda at Albert Hall in Manchester. What a night & what a memory. Nothing but love for Frankie Knuckles 💞
Mr Knuckles sharing his unique spiritual music mixing style and still moving the world. So glad I got to hear and experience this in person at the Ware(house) many Saturday nights. Thanks Frankie you live forever.❤
I like to think that when I hit the dancefloor I'm like that black girl behind Frankie. She's so into it, lost in the music, loving it, no inhibitions, great mover. Respect. x
Big smile, happy to play in a real boiler room with 10 people, no star attitude just be real and show who you are...a legend!! This is not just a magical set but it is a way of life. Thanks for leaving us this Frankie!
REST IN PEACE FRANKINCENSE. FROM ALL THE WAY IN DUBLIN ACROSS THE WORLD YOU WERE A TRUE LEGEND. FROM HERE AND A, "BLIND "BACK TO, "YOUR LOVE",YOU WERE THE GODFATHER OF HOUSE AND THE MAMMOTH SIZE OF YOUR TRACKS SHOWED THAT. YOU WILL BE SORELY MISSED.
