He suffered a brain aneurysm on 25 August 1994. Miller was unconscious for five months, and when he woke up he found himself unable to speak or sing. He spent the subsequent years in physical rehabilitation.
I am from Texas and fell in Love with his Music the first time I heard him sing! I can now sing all his songs along with him and know every movement he makes and what he wears and when his hair color changes and if he has cut it! I want only the best for him and he should be world known for his great voice ‘❤️❤️❤️
I cannot believe that I had never heard of Frankie Miller until yesterday I'm 57 years old and am well versed in the book of who's who and I definitely missed this mans gift. the male version of janis joplin Listen to him singing with Rory Gallagher on Walkin' the Dog. OH MY GOD WHAT A VOICE
Loved Frankie from the 70s and still listen to him every day, the new album Double Take is just bloody amazing, and he's Glaswegian and a Celtic supporter, a love everything about him..
I discovered Frankie Miller's rasp thru my favorite band Thin Lizzy on their song Still in Love with You. Stunning and stirring at the same time. Dug deeper, never came out lol.
I heard him on the Life on Mars soundtrack and was blown away as a Scot, now living in Glasgow, to discover this fabulous singer I had never heard of. Now I have everything I can find by him on cd so my car is also a Frankie Miller zone!
Agreed.... I have been a fan for 40 years now and have always purchased as much music as I can where the $$$ go straight to Frankie....sometimes buying multiple times and gifting to friends etc!!
@@nicmart so young and talented. I hope his peers and other musicians help him out emotionally and financially. Such a humble and awesome man. ALL MY LOVE & LIGHT TO THIS BEAUTIFUL HUMAN BEING ✨ 💛 💖 ❤ 💕 💗 🌠
ONE OF THE VERY BEST ROCK SOUL SINGER / SONGWRITERS EVER. - SCOTLANDS FINEST - TIMELESS AND PRICELESS !!! THANK YOU 🙏. FRANKIE FOR DECADES OF PURE PLEASURE. !!!
That's the best with these music platforms people all over the world can listen to a wee boy from Glasgow and know that wee have some cracking singers❤❤
he used to work beside a sparky at my work he was telling me the other day when farnkie had a wee chance of stardom he left the firm and off he went and earned his way to stardom,he used to sing at his work all the time and they all said h e was destined for better things.and so it seemed.
I never heard of Frankie Miller until I asked on a Paul Rodgers' Facebook community if any singers reminded them of Paul Rodgers. Someone said Franie Miller, so I looked him up. I have to say he's really good. To me he sounds a bit like early Paul Rodgers in Free. But the songs are different. I really like him however.
Robert Hart, Rodgers 2nd replacement in Bad Co. Is also an excellent singer. Add Jimmy Barnes to the list too. And for new(ish) blood Jay Buchanon from Rival Sons is a powerful young pup.
omg ... just went down a rabbit hole this morning WHERE I found the "FRANKIE MILLER DOUBLE TAKE" ALBUM.... holy heck!! Take me to church!! The best album I have heard in DECADES
@@nancystevens8120 Hi. There is an amazing little family owned and ran new/used music store in town where I live. Imagine if the Small Faces had hired Frankie instead of Rod. Just to have heard Frankie sing Stay with Me...sheer bliss. Then again Frankie woulda had to be leader of the gang not just one of the lads.
This guy has all the combination I like, Rock, soul, R&B, The Blues, Blue Rock, wow how is that possible? It is true when Rod Stewart said the only White man that can make me cry with his singing.
Frankie Miller, a big name in rock music, known and appreciated (in his time) in many countries .... he approached songs sung in different genres, like Joe Cocker .... after so much rock, here he made a cover, a ballad with which he "broke all the charts" in Europe and not only ... the song "Darling" composed by Oscar Stewart Blandamer in 1970, is a "country" song ... in time the song had many versions .. .the cover made by Frankie Miller in the genre of rock, blues (1979) was beyond expectations, but in 1981 another exceptional cover appeared made by the "king of pop music" Tom Jones ... Tom Jones' 1981 album entitled "Darlin '"includes many covers of country songs but also an exceptional version of a popular song from Wales ..the song is" Come home Rhondda boy "of overwhelming beauty ...
this is a good selection and this guy should be bigger than some other scottish entertainer as he puts his heart into scotland thanks very much for adding this
Frankie has a true connection with music/ lyrics just as I do. There are some people that literally can't help but FEEL EVERY NOTE AND RYTHYM AND IT TOUCHES YOUR NERVES AND YOU JUST WANT TO MOVE SING AND CAN'T STOP. NOT WITH EVERY SONG BUT MOST. IT'S A GIFT BUT CAN SOMETIMES BE EMBARRASSING. HAPPENS TO ME ALL THE TIME SINCE I WAS A CHILD. THIS IS THE STAMP OF A TRUE MUSICIAN. WATCH SOME OF YOUR FAVORITES AND SEE IF THEY HAVE THE REAL RYTHYM IN THEIR BODY. IT CAN BE ANNOYING AT TIMES BUT MOST TIMES ENERGIZING AND I STILL REMEMBER LYRICS FROM 50 YEARS AGO. MAGICAL🎶✨♥️🌠💞🎵🎼😘🌹🌅
Heard Frankie the first time in a Life On Mars UK episode. This is a real treat, thank you so much. Also just watched Once In a Blue Moon documentary. What a blessed man to have such a good woman.
Also where I discovered him. Couldn't believe that in my long Scottish life I'd now known him before (though a couple of songs were in my mind memory for years, but had not known who they were by)
OOOOhhhhhhhh. Rod does admit in a doc that Frankie has the more soulful voice. Rare self deprecation from the leopard-skin panted one. Which brings me to a waking dream I have. Frankie Miller fronting the faces!!!!!!! what do you think?
This version of Bob Marley's "Is This Love" is different of anything I've ever heard, but somehow still respects the composition, another "gol de placa" (as we say in Brazil) of our wonderful Frankie Miller. I'm in love with Frankie's work.
I just got turned on to Frankie by an old pal drummer John Pearson who's been around the block, and reckoned he's up there with the best. On first hearing, I'm blown away! Goes to show that the 60s and 70s were so creative on every level it was easy to miss the odd genius along the way. I didn't really discover Rory Gallagher until the last couple years as an example. So many bands, really good bands, rough punk bands, pub bands, then stadium bands..what a time to be alive! ♥️
Hey Simon Seeke Novosel, thanks for taking the time and show piecing the hard driving singer Frankie Miller-a man who sang from the heart. Such unfulfilled potential struck down by illness. from Tom McClean Belfast.
Agreed,,,, I have been listening to Frankie for 40 years and just found that song last year.... so cool to be able to find new songs from Frankie.....hopefully new songs come out of the woodwork in the future!!!
+Grant Young Just learned about Frankie, but this "Yank" is currently very impressed with his music, and, I have to admit, very envious of your personal experiences. Must have been awesome!
Just recently became acquainted with Mr. Miller and his musical brilliance. I understand that he has had more than his share of unfortunate health issues, but a quick online search didn't result in any obviously legitimate sources of donation. Does anyone know of any legitimate charities/donations for Mr. Miller? If so, I think it'd be great to post it here, so new fans can have an option to show their appreciation to this fine artist directly, while still exploring and deciding which albums or singles to buy. Thanks for the upload Simon!
B Cooke he took ILL in America,he was working on something with Joe Walsh..and believe his medical bills were taken care of..there's a documentary..an album released recently with other artists performing his songs,Elton signs Where do the guilty go..check Frankie singing it.
+jim mckay I don't know anything about Glasgow's blues-rock scene and history, but I'd say Frankie Miller rates amongst the best world-wide. Just learned of him, so maybe the shine will fade, but my ears don't often fail me, and this is golden!
Frankie also introduced Robin Trower to Jimmy Dewar...Another Scotsman and (in my opinion) Arguably the greatest vocalist to ever live. Frankie was instrumental in the writing of the amazing song "I can't wait Much Longer" Sung here by The Late Great James Dewar. Robin Trower - I Can't Wait Much Longer(Live) 1975- Sweden
Many people don't know that when Robin Trower quit Procol Harum, the first band he formed afterwards (Jude) was with Frankie on lead vocals, Jimmy Dewar (an amazing vocalist in his own right), and Clive Bunker on drums. Sadly, I don't believe they ever recorded anything; it would have been one hell of a band to hear!!!
My friend sent me Darlin with Frankie Miller singing it a couple moths ago and I had never heard of him before then and I fell in Love with his Music and am crazy about him! I constantly Listen to him and buy any of his stuff that I can find and wish they would sell any of his stuff from cds, records, hats, clothes, etc.and I would definitely buy it for sure and for certain! He is awesome and everyone needs to hear that fabulous voice of his!!! I Love you Frankie and your music!!!!!!!!🤤🤤
Simon ! You are the Best i´ve ever found ! Without you i think i havent found this ´Magic Music and such an outstanding Musician !! Thank you so much .....
Puh :) hard to say ! They are all so great .... but ... at the moment i think its After all ( Live my life ) everytime i hear this Song i have Tears in my eyes ...
Frankie Miller and Delbert McClinton 2 gether .. WOW That would have been .. So Fine .. Listening too Delbert singing a Frankie song Send me an angel ( or something similar ) ?
RIP Andy Frazier. Played bass with Free, and co-wrote 'Be Good to Yourself' and played bass on many Frankie recordings. Andy passed Monday 3/16/2015 in Temecula, Ca. 62 years of life.
The whole world has been cheated from hearing many, many, many great singers...the "Powers that Be," in the music industry got to decide around the 80's/90's, what music we were going to listen to...I see that since Social Media, that is finally changing. We are deciding. Think of American idol and The Voice...they even ruin them once they have won...yes, there are a couple who made it big, but for the most part...you never hear them again.
i liked his movie..been watching lots of across the pond movies of late..he impressed so many artists in the music industry..jammy git..walk on brother..we love ya..
Stewart owns up, gratefully, to Frankie; yet, something is missing from Rod's thin tribute when we hear just how strong an influence the young Miller was upon that raucous teenager.
Have been listening to Frankie Miller for years.Rory and Frankie , doing "walking the dog". Check it out ( you tube)He has such a great voice , people never like a particular song. But so I have been told once Frankie sings it they like it.
yesterday, it was the first time I heard about this guy. Singing love letters, it took me 1/4 of a minut to know what it was, but only 1second to fall in love with this man's singing. There's only one thing that is regrettable, and that is, no man can comme old enough to remake all existing songs. Otherwise Frankie would had a giant job to redo all.
Simon, thanks for uploading this; you’ve done a fabulous job. Frankie’s wife used to have a RU-vid channel which had lots of great videos of his performances; sadly missing from RU-vid lately. Folks, if you love his music, buy his latest releases including the Double Take album which was made to raise funds for him. Try to buy new CDS so he gets the royalties. Chrysalis has a set of 5 of his earlier albums which aren’t expensive. I have many of his albums and videos; they’re a source of constant listening pleasure for this aged great-grandmother. As a Scot perhaps I’m biased but he’s well loved by us oldies who enjoyed his music in our (& Frankie’s) younger years. You’ll find his movie also here on RU-vid if you’re interested. While a brain aneurysm cut his career short in 1994, Frankie has recorded his own songs so we have a good collection of his work to which we can listen at anytime we like. He sang a few songs from other songwriters though I think more singers sang the songs which he’d composed. Got to love Frankie 💜🎼🏴
Noticed someone mentioned this guy on a Paul Young video so I decided to check him out. How come I never heard of this singer before? He’s really good! Is he still alive? Does he still perform?
