1962. My brother John was killed by a drunk driver when he was 18. This song was playing on the ride home after I was informed of his death. When things got really bad - I would sing to myself - big girls don't cry. I have never forgotten this song. And I've never forgotten John.
Aw Babe🥺💔I am so sorry. Crazy how one song can take you right back to that moment. Coldplay “Talk” is that song for me. I was driving and found my best friends car in a parking lot when I was listening to it. She had committed suicide in her car and I found her. Sending hugs🫶
I join your sense of Celebration here but just to be clear it's only Frankie from the four of them. Two have passed away and Bob does not tour with the group.
Here's the crazy thing. That's not falsetto. That's full voice. Our singer uses a similar technique. Check it out! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--0lVR0hAGyk.html
Frankie Valli was the first to popularize it but many black singers did it first. And let's not forget that the best falsetto in history is obviously Barry Gibb's. (and more influential).
This music is so good, I really admire Frankie Valli and the rest of the crew. I used to listen to The Four Seasons constantly. Thankfully these fellas helped me through a really tough time in my life, but sadly whenever I listen to these beautiful works of art, it reminds me of the horrible feelings and all those feelings come rushing back. Thanks to The Four Seasons, much appreciated.
Just watched jersey boys for the first time and didn’t know about them. I know some songs but now I get to appreciate them since I know the story for the most part
Good morning my friend I was only 7 yrs old when this song came out but I remember it just like yesterday to This song is great to still listening to this music in July of 2024
I was about 3 years ago when I first heard this song, I laughed at his funny voice so hard. I’m 16 now and I’ve loved it ever since and it takes me back to a better world.
@Martin Luther nobody said that. How can a society be civilised and good when that society forces a group of people to sit at the back of the bus because of their race?
Considering nothing is plugged in and and theres no mic and wireless wasnt invented yet . I would say its lip syncing . Most shows did lip and instrument syncing to recorded tracks back then cuz the quality for live recording was expensive and not as reliable as far as sound quality while taping.
@@samuraigeorge71 That makes no sense at all, it's clearly lip synched. Bands would record a "live" version to be used for the performance. If you think that low vocal at 0:51 is from a boom mic in 1962 during a choreographed TV performance, then I have a bridge to sell you.
@@samuraigeorge71 compare the low vocal at 0:51 to the same vocal being performed live in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OzpXuRCBgsM.html at about 30 seconds in. See how much he has to lean in to the mic and how much effort he has to put into that low line? Huge difference.
I grew up in New Jersey, live in Tucson now, but my brother‘s friends mother dated Frankie Valli for a time I guess and she got a hold of him and got an autographed picture for my brother. This was back when I was a young boy probably 12 back in the 60s. Boy, where has the time gone?
💕Thanks for the endless love and support you have constantly showed me. I'm forever grateful. I really appreciate your unconditional love towards me, where are you watching from.🌹. You can send me a M. A. I. L’’
I remember roller skating to all their songs. 😍🤩🛼 What a vocal range! It's outrageous. Brilliant writers. Loved 'em then, love 'em today. You'll never hear this music again. Today's music doesn't hold a candle to this. Classy era. My parents would get all dressed up on a Saturday night and go to the supper club to see bands like this. Dad will be 95 and still loves FV and the 4Seasons. 🥹🎙🎶🎵🎹🎸
I appreciate how Bob Gaudio plays the first few notes of "Sherry" as the intro. Also appreciate that they actually performed the song instead of lip syncing. I think this was on The Ed Sullivan Show; am I right?
Of course they are lip synching. lol No cords on the guitars, no microphones, no drummer anywhere in sight, etc. Everybody did back then. Still great group tho.
@@johnnybelinda8539 ya, its not even up to the performers. These shows were big money and they wouldn't take any chances on the performers messing up. Even if the talent disagreed, they were nothing compared to the power of the studio heads.
This song really demonstrates the good quality of Frankies falsetto. I know exactly which guy is which of the three now , from watching the videos alot. From the time the group broke through with " Sherry " i never paid much attention to anyone in the group , except Frankie. I was always familiar with Gaudio , though. What he looked like and about his successful songwriting ability. Alot of years have gone by and i was so busy with my family and my own career, i didnt pay much attention to these kind of details. But one thing was for sure, i was always very attracted to Frankie Valli. And of course, his wonderful songs. ❤💕🎤🎵💿💿💿💿💕
The kid who played Frankie tried. But he didn't come close. I appreciated the movie, and I know Frankie had a part in its creation, but I wish they would have just dubbed his voice for the songs.
No limit to Frankie 's talents unbelievable voice he was given. Love this Old talented guy,his voice never gives up ...can't wait to see him@ Mohegan Sun ❤
@@mando8222 Boomers clearly didn't raise their children correctly and thus our society went on a downward spiral. Maybe the so called "strict" parents of the 40's and 50's knew what they were doing. Too bad you all rebelled against their teachings and thus created the world you now all bitch about 🤣
The elites controlling the entertainment industry are slowly but surely trying to condition the masses to be more perverted & ungodly. They're preparing for the antichrist kingdom & they need people to be immoral & lost if they're going to have any chance at deceiving many.
@@skykirby2216 If you liked this go to google and search for Glenn Miller his time was back in the 40;s and 50,s it was known as the Big band sound I think you will like it.
