@@wartortle577it's not like Oda writes "canon" or "non canon" next to every cover. You can just decide for yourself which ones are canon and I see no reason not to believe that cover wasn't a glimpse into the future.
When you realize that "hard boiled" just refers to an egg, but explains how the person is hard on the outside (trying to act tough and manly) but is actually soft on the inside (is a kind and caring person), I'm so glad Queen caught up to this! You're almost at the end of the arc!
The irony, I went back and watched your first One Piece video, your reaction to The appeal of One Piece...this is the first back story you ever saw. One year since then....are you happy you started?
@@ashramjathan4258well I don’t think many people can write a story that spans multiple decades like Oda has done even if they wanted to, he also didn’t plan it and it just ended up going that way
The backstory that kicked of this whole journey!!! Senor Pink past still hits to this day and one of the backstories that actually made me cry when i read it in the manga when it came out. Such a tragedy and it still baffles me that this was a story of a "random" character 🥲🥲🥲
"Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker" QUEEN! I absolutely love your reactions to One Piece! I'm always looking forward to them! The amount of time, energy, and effort you put into them is so noticeable. I'm so excited that I get to re-experience the journey vicariously through you! 👑❤🙏👒🏴☠
@@Higsby100 That would actually be Chimney, the little kid who is the grandaughter of Kokoro in Water 7/Enies Lobby. Though, shes only like 1/4 Fishman and looks only human.
Fun Fact! Strong Style refers to a Japanese Professional Wrestling contest where two combatants leave their chests open and allow the other wrestler to strike them until one falls.
Senior Pink… A criminal given the opportunity to change for the better but because he never left his evil life behind he was punished for it by *losing* said opportunity and being left broken.
RIP to my boy Dellinger. He puts in all the work, taking down so many of the Colosseum folks and having a great time while he does. Also him getting tossed around angering Jora/Giolla like that makes more sense because she's the one that mainly raised him, Dellinger being the baby you see grow up in Law's flashback. It's why he dresses and acts the way he does, because she dressed him up and he grew up liking that kind of eccentric style. Was nice to hear that you liked him, at least for a moment. Ironically enough him showing off his teeth and fully showing his fishman side genuinely made him one of my favorite characters in the series. You can probably tell my profile pic is that close-up shot of him. And congrats on finally making it to Senor Pink's backstory. Seeing as how it was part of the video that really got you to undertake this journey, it's definitely a milestone! It always felt like a very real and grounded backstory to me. A simple tragedy, but that's why I like it so much in a series full of very grand and epic tragedies.
Yeah - can't blame Dellinger for the way he is. Not with that family raising him. I also really want to know who his parents where (probably a tragic forbitten love story)!
i heard oda first didnt want to include the backstory of senor pink because he is always a bit short on pages to draw but his publisher liked that backstory so much that he asked him to draw it anyway...and dear god its a good one that "kyodai" from franky gets me everytime
The Silent moments are maybe my favorite when it comes to Robin After a life of hell hoping to die she found people she loves and starts warming up to them Everytime Luffy is being Luffy she has a delicate smile on her face and enjoys it all Here she stands as a support for Luffy and a motivator for his allies And the scene of her gladly protecting Rebecca without a word or any need for acknowledgement Just a smile on her face I LOVE HER❤😢
As you said about One Piece here, Japanese animations are very often like super colorful and beatiful. I like that about them. I watched a lot of Moomins as a kid and they are Japanese animated and you can tell. The scenery and the color contrasts is just so nice in Japanese art in general.
You know, I can't blame Barto for that one. I'd be powerless around Robin, too. And once again, respect to Barto for the self sacrifice in the name of best girl. And holy shit for a third time, Barto is 100% someone you want in your corner. Dude may act like a Straw Hat fanboy (understandable) but he's got the strength to not slow them down. Even if Luffy knocks out Bellamy, he's going to be *ROYALLY* pissed the fuck off at Doffy for making him fight someone he liked. What is Doffy thinking? Oh GOda, no. I ain't ready for this backstory, again. Franky just had to make sure he stacked another W on the pile, this arc. Showing respect to an enemy and not having any hard feelings just because he's on the other side. Sadly you don't see that too often. Man, Oda really knows how to make a poetically beautiful fight. A tormented father avenging his wife and atoning to his daughter, defeating the man who tore his family apart, all in front of said wife's grave in the middle of a beautiful sunflower field. That's definitely in the top 3 fights for this arc, and imo is way up there in overall fights (especially for side characters). I'm ready for *someone* to shut Pica-pica-pikachu's mouth. Something tells me it's been a long time since his ass was humbled.
Queen I feel the same way, the first time I saw Senor pink’s backstory, I cried my ass off. Even after watching so many utuber reactions to specific moments in the anime, never thought I ball my eyes out over a grown man wearing baby clothes. As soon as I seen Russian smiling after being in her vegetative state, I started crying😭😭😂😂. Can’t wait for you to see luffy finally defeat Doffy❤.
Candy is Dandy but Liquor is Quicker, and that's why Senor. Pink wanted his wife (white) Russian back. Missed commenting last episode but yeah...Law is going through it. As for *this* episode...I was tearing up all through the Senor Pink backstory, and then followed again with Kyros' pain...too many tears. Franky and Robin had some of the best moments this arc, but there are still great moments to come. Thanks for the video.
The dressRosa pacing is a little bit painful, but I promise once you get out of it it’s never this bad again. 20 episodes of watching Bellamy bounce around is crazy.
According to Oda's at the time editor Suguru Sugita: “Due to page restrictions, composition difficulties etc., there’s a lot of unrevealed stories that Oda-sensei had finished up in his head, but that we couldn’t put out in the manga. Señor Pink’s background story during the Dressrosa Arc was originally also one such story. At first, Oda-sensei wasn’t supposed to draw Señor Pink past, but when I’d asked Oda-sensei about Pink’s character setting, I was completely moved by how good it was, and both of us would get really excited discussing it. We ended up not inserting that story in the chapter he was drawing at the time, saying that we’d leave this story as something between him and I. It later suddenly came up in a next chapter, though. We also got a lot of response from the readers, and in the end I was glad it was put into the series after all. There’s also other characters’ worldview or unrevealed character settings that pop up in the dialogue here and there, but being able to ask unrevealed stories like that, well, that’s one of the fun parts of being his editor.”
Fact: From this moment (Franky vs Senior Pink), the most popular One Piece reactor, Uzumaki Khan decided that this will be his top anime (before he was big fan of Naruto) and it is to this day.
Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker! I will say, you kept it together WAY better than I did when I first saw the Senor Pink backstory. Even watching this with you, I still cried a BUNCH. Senor Pink, while part of Doffy's family, is genuinely a decent dude.
Woo hoo! Surprise depressing backstory! The cover story where Franky and Senior Pink have that drink, unfortunately, isn't real, it was a reader request. I _desperately_ need it to be real.
(wrong caps lock sorry) YOUR JOJO REFERENCE COMMENT MADE ME THINK ABOUT HOW MAYBE FRANKY's entire aspect is really like Jojo. Maybe Oda was inspired by it when creating the character? Even the poses and the macho man hard boiled mode he goes is like a jojo episode hahahaha
I recently had a new thought after watching One Piece for the millionth time. So Sanji's character design is based on Steve Buscemi's character in Reservior Dogs, Mr Pink. Señor Pink just means Mr Pink. I wonder if there is a connection? He is a dapper dude. Well, from dapper to diaper.
I still like Dellinger as a villain. He's unique. Robin sacrificed herself so that Kyros wouldn't have to worry about his daughter. The Robin we knew before Enies Lobby wouldn't have done that, not for someone who is basically a stranger. Dressrosa continues to be all or nothing. And it will be like that until the end. A lot of people complain about the pacing, even with the manga, but an awful lot of those people who complain also still love this arc. I'm going to relax for my evening now. I don't have any candy but I do have liquor. It is, after all, quicker.
Too many people compare Rebecca to Vivi not realizing that though Dressrosa is a Parallel of Alabasta, Rebecca is not the parallel of Vivi. Kyros is. Rebecca is the parallel of Kohza.
The name Pica, makes me think of the disorder some humans have; where they have the urge to ingest things that aren't edible/digestable. Such as batteries, paperclips, rubber bands, etc.
9:56 I dont know why but when you said "Nice!" at that moment where Bartolomeo copied Luffy it made me smile from ear to ear since i felt the exact same thing when i first saw it🤣😂🤣
Bartolomeos suitcase, theories around it barto was planning to put the mera mera fruit in there when he won, but since theres no need for that anymore,
When the battle between Kyros and Diamante ended, i felt conflicted that Oda didn't let Rebecca have at least one good hit on Diamante as well. Even a simple trip-up that would lead into Kyros' final attack, and then landing on Scarlet's grave symbolizing a joint effort from all of them to take down the one who killed Scarlet. Rebecca's deal to me was basically to prove that she didn't need to be constantly protected, that she had enough power to protect others too was what all those years of training wouldve led into. But i understand Kyros not wanting her to bloody her hands with revenge just like he did long ago.
One day we would like to hear your backstory of how you became queenblaze because you are destined to be queen forever 💙 blaze squad let's have fun with the queen 👑💙
