There many characters included in the Programmes scripts, who are never seen in the series. Each actor has great talent and you really believe the invisible characters exist.

Brilliant Script Writing....must take some talent to include a main role for some-one who never appears. And Niles carries out the role superbly of a long suffering husband who's wife Never appears on screen...and your left wondering what Maris looks like...
Oh, I really must buy the rest of the Frasier series. I stopped buying at series 4, watched part of series 5 on TV during a holiday, and never saw another for some reason. Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do.
Much of what the actors said on the show was more or less understandable. However, frequently the actual punch line was often unintelligible babble. That's okay, because they always had a laugh track so just laugh on cue.
I suffer from hearing difficulties, have done all my life. When actors used to speak more clearly, I could rely on lip-reading quite well. However, the recent fashion for mumbling out 'punchlines' is worsening, to the point that I often have to re-watch episodes with subtitles.
