Fraytools, the software used to make workshop characters, is the exact same software the devs used to make the game. Allegedly. There’s not a lot of documentation but anything the devs can do on an official character or assist, you can do on your own workshop creation.

Gonna be honest, the Captain Falcon port feels kinda disappointing. He doesn't feel as good as almost any version of Captain Falcon to play. His movement feels weird and slippery in a way he never has. I really hope someone else takes a crack at him and this isn't the only version we get. The Mario port is probably the best custom character so far. He feels extremely close to how you'd expect him to feel.
