Captain Benteen met his commander, LT COL Custer, and he did NOT like him.
We will follow the many clashes these two strong-willed officers have, culminating at the Battle of the Washita, and the gossip and unpleasantness that ripples out and haunts the Seventh Cavalry all the way from the Battle of the Little Bighorn and Custer's Last Stand to today.
Through it all, Benteen could depend on the devotion of his wife, Kate, whom he called "Frab" or "Frabbie" in the many letters he sent her over the years.
