This ship has everything you need. Lots of restaurants, lots of bars, a pool, cinema, lots of live entertainment and the food is amazing 👏 The staff are lovely and go out of their way to help you.
So many memories for me. I worked an 8 month contract when it was The Rotterdam and had the opportunity of a world cruise. A truly wonderful ship. What I consider to be a ship and not the floating mega malls with thousands of passengers. I was also fortunate to enjoy most of the passenger spaces but the best place was the crew bar. Thanks for such a great video.
A great video , best holiday I ever had & seeing the Northern Lights was amazing, thank you David for our talks & always keeping an eye open for me during the freezing sightseeing nights looking for the fantastic Northern Lights Thanks Annette Byrne
Hi Annette and thank you! It was a pleasure to meet you. I also made this other video about our hunt for the lights :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-96eFZP4k6J4.html
Curious question, when the northern lights were present did the ship turn off any of the deck lighting to make it easier to see? I ran into that issue while on a recent Alaska cruise.
I've heard that Fred Olsen is primarily a British cruise line. As someone from the states, any opinion on how that would work out for me. Just got back from Scotland for 12 days, the heavy accent did get to me after a while. Sure they felt the same way! har har..
Looking at this ship but am a bit worried about how she rides the sea - previous ships i have been on is Azura and Ventura (115/6K tonnes) - Queen Mary 2 (150K tonnes) and Sky Princess (145K Tonnes). At ^!k Tonnes, this ship is much smaller - and i would hate to get seasick all holiday. Any View appreciated :)
It depends where you're going and when most of all. I just did a North Sea crossing in July and it was much, much calmer than in January and March. If you're concerned about movement, booking a cabin midship is a good idea.
I worked on this ship, sailing in the Mediterranean, across the Atlantic, The Eastern Seaboard of the United States and the Carribbean. Although smaller than some of the newer ships, it handles weather just as well. As crew though, occasionally we would make journeys without passengers when changing embarkation ports. For these journeys they would turn off the stabilisers to save on fuel. It was still a sturdy ship, even without the stabilisers.
No, although the passengers definitely skew older so it’s not the liveliest atmosphere. I talk more about the Fred Olsen passengers on this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-96eFZP4k6J4.html
No sure where you got that nonsense from. This ship was built new as a Cruise ship and named Rotterdam for Holland America. What is a Bro? Thought that was what kids of about 5 years of age called each other. Christ you cannot be an adult surely using the word bro?
@@dlgregory35you’re so smart, he is referencing the cargo ship in video game called “half life 2” that is also named borealis, you’re supposed to be old enough to catch sarcasm right away
@@proxfastyxbro7659 Do you really mean stupidity on his part. How would anybody even begin to understand what half life 2 even means. Like your name proxfastyxbro7659 what rhe hellis a bro sound as though you are still at school a child.
