Part 2 of our Fred Olsen Balmoral mini cruise from Newcastle, repositioning to Southampton. Including cruising past Norfolk windfarms, formal afternoon tea, dinner at Vasco's Goan restaurant.
Was a very nice ship overall if you enjoy classic cruising. We also intend to try some of the Rosyth Itineraries in the future, as that's our local cruise port.
Nice video. Ship looks lovely. Was if just the time you were filming, but hardly any other passengers around very quiet. Not that that’s a bad thing lol
Thankyou. The ship was actually that quiet all the time, our sailing only had approx 250 passengers onboard, probably due to it being a short repositioning cruise. No trouble finding a seat or someone to take a drinks order at least!
Thank you, and no, that was the basic cruise price. We paid drinks package and return coach from Southampton on top of that. The coach was relatively cheap though, around £29 per person from memory?
I am doing 2 night S'ton to Newcastle on 28 Feb. For 2 people sharing cabin £99 each. For solo has cost me £149 + £30 for coach back to S'ton. So cheap, but perhaps that is because I only booked less than 4 weeks to cruise. How many hours approx did the coach take from S'ton to Newcastle?
We saw that, and if we weren't on another holiday we'd also do that for sure! Hope you have a wonderful cruise. And I believe the coach back was around 7 hours, including a stop for bathroom/lunch. And apologies for late reply.
The cost for our cabin was £249 per person for 2 nights onboard, which was basically from lunchtime on day 1, full day onboard day 2, and off the ship on the morning of day 3.
