Really great interview with Freddie from November 4, 1995. Freddie talks about his days in the Bronx, Kenny Dorham's influence and friendship, Blue Note records' Alfred Lion and Francis Wolff, the Montgomery brothers, composing technique, the difference between NY and LA, and other subjects.

Freddie Hubbard will truly be missed .I was so fortunate to see him play live and Freddy was without a doubt one of the greatest trumpet players to ever grace our planet.

One of the all time greats. I feel he is as great a composer as he is a brass player, musicianship in general. Thank you!

My pleasure. It's a privilege to be able to archive and share these interviews. If you haven't listened to the early Max Roach interview I highly recommend it. It's priceless. Are you the James Carter that's a good friend of my friend Donald Washington?
