Freddie was on his guard when it came to the press, the never missed an opportunity to be negative about him and Queen. He hated interviews because of that and that's why he loved to confuse them with schocking comments. And even though freddie was a peaceful man he did not take any crap from no one.He did not see the point of mixing his personal life and his professional life.He wanted it to be about the music and not him.
You gotta remember the press really tore him to pieces. So it's no wonder why he hated doing interviews. They'd twist his words. Paint him to be a deviant. They continued to burn him after he died too. It was why Brian and roger did an interview a week after he died. They wanted to defend him because he couldn't do it himself. And still, despite all of that, they continued to talk shit.
If you’re not familiar with Sid Vicious, he was the bassist and vocalist for the punk group the Sex Pistols. He died of a heroine overdose in 1979. I think he would be surprised that Queen did bring opera to the masses and that we are still celebrating Freddie today. Bohemian Rhapsody is the most streamed song of the century at 1.6 billion.
To me Freddie was a human being trying to get used to be treated like a deity sometimes and like a piece of garbage some other times. He did a good job to be honest
I love listening to Freddie talk. He really was funny but he REALLY hated the press so there aren't a ton of interviews, etc. (At least not many for a guy who was in the spotlight for so many years.) The Sid Vicious/Simon Ferocious bit is one of my favorites. There was more from that interview where he said -- besides mocking the name -- that he asked Vicious if he stood in front of the mirror every day to make sure his self-inflicted scratches were done just right.
When I saw that part on the Days of our lives documentary, I was laughing so hard I forgot to breathe for a few seconds! 😂😂😂 That’s the best comeback I ever heard!
I love this. I think Freddie has a wonderful soul. As far as I’m concerned, Freddie Mercury just won TWO golden globes. And I hope the Oscars as well. No matter what people say about the movie. I think Freddie’s spirit was there for the whole thing!
Thanx Mathew's fam, for representing a true artist and all the media BS involved. Queen were heroes to all of us that were ahead of our time. L, yr ahead of the game, so smart, I'm proud to be a subscriber!
The guy to whom Freddie said "I hate to talk to people like you" was his producer. Rudi Dolezal worked for Queen in Munich and recorded several albums with them. And he also filmed the interviews for the behind-the-scenes videos.
Pls react to Freddie Mercury funny extended version Its so good and so funny😂😂By the way he use to hate interviews and that’s why he never did that much. The press always disliked queen or gave him a hard time so I get why Freddie might be “rude”
I was there in Montreal Forum in 1981 and YES, it's as if the crowd was dead; hell I was bopping like an idiot 4 rows back but guess those Canadians, HAHA I'm one too, were too polite or in a bloody trance.
Freddie had no filter at all. Something I've been accused of in my lifetime several times, but that's why I loved him because he wasn't fake. You had to know him though because sometimes he was taking a jab at you seriously, but sometimes he was just Clowning Around like he did because Freddie was a bit of a clown. He said in the beginning o I'm so boring off stage bullshit. He was so funny and had such a personality that you couldn't help but smile when you saw the some of the things he did and when you go back and look at some of the footage that was taken and he didn't know cameras were rolling on him it was hysterical he was not the same on stage as he wasn't real life however he was just as funny just as interesting he just was one of those people you want to be around because he made you smile but he also made you think when he had something bothering him he didn't let it fester and just you know look at somebody and think you bloody son-of-a-bitch he'd come right out and tell you you bloody son-of-a-bitch and why you were a bloody son-of-a-bitch and that's what I loved about him even when he was being mean he was being real
4:32 they told you wrong, this crowd was instructed by the organizers not to be too noisy and sit down as the concert was filmed for a release in cinemas, so the ambient noise would be under control. This was filmed in two consecutive days(two shows) with expensive movie cameras and production.
He was Freaking Hilarious ‼‼ He was brutally honest But, can you really blame him for that⁉⁉ I LOVE 💘 how he says..."Stop that $*#T...‼‼ 🖐 LOL‼‼ 😂😂😂 So funny!!! Also, when he says..."I'm Kim Basinger!!" 😄😃😆 Also, calling Sid...!! "Simon Ferocious!!!" The look on his face?!? Is PRICELESS‼‼ He had to have been an absolute BLAST to be around!!! "I'm just a Musical Prostitute, My Dear...‼‼‼" Ha! Ha! 😀😁😃😄
Yeah there are other videos of Freddie's funny moments Freddie in the bathtub with all the bubbles is just freaking hysterical. He definitely was a unique and entertaining person, but beyond that he was just real and he didn't care if people saw the real him off stage.
There were a few folks that Freddie trusted in the press. David Wigg was one who was also in his inner circle. Paul Gambaccini is another journalist friend. Although she wrote a book not sure how close he was with Lesley Ann Jones. I'm sure there is a few more than those three I have mentioned. Overall, Freddie distrust the press. The biggest eye opener for him was an interview he done with a magazine. headline was "Is this man a prat"..
you have to watch part 2 of this.I love your queen reactions and there are still lots of great/hit songs that you havent reacted to like You take my breath away, youre my best friend, its a hard life, flash, the miracle, Spread your wings, now im here, good old fashion lover boy,A kind of magic, flash, play the game, im going slighty mad, hammer to fall. All of these are very popular songs by queen Pls react to one of them after you watch part 2 of freddie mercury
I think he was really fun guy I bet he was a ball to be around I love his laugh !!! Sure wish I could have known him, even as bad as th British press treated him he didn't let it stop him!! Freddie calling him Simon ferocious was funny I bet sid vicious was pissed!
yass, every morning I wake up and am blessed with a queen reaction video of you. thank you ;) pls react to no one but you by queen, it’s their tribute to freddie after he passed and john deacons last project with them❤️
Ur awesome ! Ur attitude Towards Queen... I love that U fell in love with Queen, and Ur introducing this legendary band to this new generation. Xx, Heather
I was at a concert once in a huge theatre. It wasn't used to hosting rock concerts. The band kept encouraging us to stand up and dance and the ushers were going nuts telling us to sit down and be respectful. Not a lot of lively concerts were booked there after that.
I immediately thought about David Bowie as a musician who had a bunch of stage personas - Ziggy Stardust, Thin White Duke, Major Tom. Maybe you should check him out :) Not asking about reaction. Just want to introduse you this incredible man. His Diamond Dogs will always have a special place in my heart.
You missed when the interviewer ask Freddie does he have any hobbies and Freddie replied “I have a lot of sex” it stopped the interviewer in his tracks lol
He hated doing interviews. Those vulture reporters made him stressed out. That’s why he smoked so much. He didn’t smoke that much normally. This was all said in an interview with his PA.
LOVED THIS!! I've watched his funniest moments many times, loved watching you react to it! You should definitely react to part 2. You should also react to Queen at Live Aid and Its A Hard Life.
Someone said that no matter who wrote the songs, they all share equally in the profits. I heard this many years ago & I thought that was unusual, but a respectful way of saying we are equal, no one stands above the others.
I actually love the clip of him with this reporter I think it's Africa she doesn't speak much English and he was trying to get across to her he was not the leader of the band and she just wasn't getting it and then when he makes this kind of sexual comment to her and goes to hug her and he's trying to show her he's joking she's still like duh I don't get it it just makes me laugh I mean seriously even with the language barrier you should have got it
Brian May wrote a song honoring Freddie. Please React to 2 videos . The Making Of "No One But You (Only The Good Die Young)" and then the actual official video, "No One But You (Only The Good Die Young)" This is super "dope" as you would say . :) Thanks again for you shining the light on my favorite group , Queen. Joe in LA.
Well there you have it! Summed up just right. Savvy dude for sure our Freddie! Funny as hell and snap back at ya like a wip! Love it! 😂 The David Wigg "the bigger the better" interview has got a lot of them along with much sincere honesty. You should check out that 2 part, best of videos.
