There are so many favourite Freddie vocal performances! He sings all songs with such passion, regardless of whether or not he wrote them. That's what makes him such a great interpreter of music, not just his fantastic voice
Both the songs Time Waits For No One and this song were written by Dave Clark for the musical Time. When he asked Freddie to record the songs for the album he said he thought it would be an interesting experience but working with Freddie turned out to be a beautiful dream. Freddie's vocals for these songs are just phenomenal! The power, range and emotion just can't be matched!
Dying of aids and he never lost his gifts. Miss Freddie Mercury so much.❤😢 Freddie was so gifted vocally he could make any song sound personal. Extraordinary!
Paul Vincent played guitar. They called it BRIAN MAY style. Lol. This song and the Time Waits for No One were the 2 songs Freddie did for Dave Clark’s Broadway play called Time. The two of them became very good friends. There’s a video of Freddie and Dave Clark discussing the endeavor. Dave Clark had a successful group in the early 1960’s called The Dave Clark Five. He was the singer/drummer.
Listening to this is like being caught inside a rogue wave..if you've ever been in the ocean and get sucked under by a giant wave..you're tossed about, don't know if you are upside down or right side up...
I seriously believe Freddie had creative input to this work of Dave Clark plus others. . .heartbreaking sentiment produced after a curtain had started to be closed. Sentimental me loving but mourning Freddie here this morning. Thanks for the reaction.
This was one of Freddie Mercury's more popular singles. It is famous for the lyrics, "I'm just a singer with a song," which became one of the lines Brian May used when speaking of Freddie, calling him the "Lover of Life, Singer of Songs." >>
