Yes you should look into his life. He was a beautiful person. A giving, caring, generous person to everyone around him. And of course a great talent. There are also a lot of interviews with him on RU-vid. They show what a great personality he had and a great sense of humour too.
This song was written by Dave Clark to his musical, called Time. He wanted to release a concept album with the songs of his musical that's why he asked famous singers of the era (like Stevie Wonder) to collaborate in the project, but he mentioned once, that Freddie was the only one who put his 110% into it. Pls, check out the Great Pretender, a great cover from the 50s, because that song summerizes Freddie's life.
Probably one of my favorite vocals by Freddie! Written by Dave Clark for the musical TIME … Freddie gives it his absolute all 🥺 Dave & Freddie were good friends so much so that Dave was with Freddie when he passed. Dave Clark is from the 60’s group The Dave Clark Five!
Thank you for looking into Freddie's and Queens history and wonderful music. -Again, I seen this vid a thousand times and I am sitting here crying. I call it the "Freddie Effect"- he has such an impact on millions of his and Queens fans. Sending you Love, Peace and Joy ☮
Great reaction! As a poster said this was written by Dave Clark, he was a very close friend of Freddie's, he was the person who was watching over Freddie when he died. You have to check out some early Queen. Check out My Fairy King or Liar live at the Rainbow 1974.
Nigel.. This is a beautiful song , it's almost like it was written with Freddie in mind... such a talented individual, who left us all too soon, but thankfully we have his music and Queens to listen to forever. They were the best IMHO. Another song with just Freddie singing and playing the piano is "You Take My Breathe Away" Hyde Park 1976. It is just beautiful! He wrote it. You'll be amazed! Hope you'll do a reaction to this.. Thank You. Glad you are getting into their catalog...it is immense!
There are so many that are amazing songs by Queen and Freddie... Please react to one of my many many favorites - In the Lap of the Gods, live 1974 at the rainbow. Its a Queen song but written by Freddie. Here you see the emotion and passion that he put into all of his performances. Almost everyone who reacts to him live say the same thing - he was mesmerizing, you couldn't take your eyes away from him.
Great reaction. You should do some older Queen. Seven Seas of Rye, Stone Cold Crazy live at the rainbow 74. White Queen live at the odeon hammersmith 75.
I already watched your White Queen reaction and now this one, so you've been at both ends of his career. If you want to know Freddie better start with some early 70s Queen then some 80s and 90s watch him/them evolve and progress. They always led the way and never got stale or stuck with one sound for too long. I don't think there's any 2 songs that sound alike. Not many bands stayed together as long as they did, so there's a huge catalog of albums and music just waiting for you to enjoy
Actually comes from the 1980's musical Time I don't think Fred actually had anything too do with the songs he sang from memory 3 in the show by Dave Clark, this one and I think another Freddie sang with Sir Cliff Richard and the title track Time has two versions

HI HON..... FREDDIE MERCURY SUGGESTIONS: FROM HIS OPERATIC BARCELONA ALBUM..... "EXERCISES IN FREE LOVE" This a Demo Fred made for operatic singer Montserrat Caballe (nickname Montsie) where he sings the SOPRANO piece he had written for her. (The ORIGINAL 1987 AUDIO-ONLY DEMO (w Freddie's photo in a tuxedo) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qkuBUWykrIU.html (NOT the later posthumous re-orchestrated version NOR the "video" mash-up (which is CONFUSING, makes it seem like it is not Freddie singing). ALSO.... "ENSUENO" This is the follow-up/companion to "Exercises In Free Love", a duet where - this time - Montsie is singing operatic soprano and Freddie is singing OPERATIC BARITONE. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DOySL4GYaDY.html (This link is also audio-only; there's a version out there w a nice fan-made video mashup/lyrics, but the audio in THIS 1987 original is also SO MUCH BETTER)
