It's true, but the situation is a bit complicated. For years now there have been two seeds from the danish league into the Champions League because both GOG and Aalborg have been on par with the competition, and they have to fill up the missing seeds from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine from somewhere. Last year Fredericia came in second with a hard-fought perfect season, and the EHF commission cannot just say "sorry, the seed would have been actually reserved for other teams that you defeated this season". This strict policy of sticking to the placements of teams allows for a periodic influx of new players and teams on the scene, which keeps the industry fresh and fair. New teams have a few months to prepare and make player acquisitions, it's fair to assume that they take the neccesary steps to keep up with the competition to a certain extent. Last year was the same with Pelister, they just didn't belong, at least in the beginning. I'm sure Fredericia will also improve a lot throughout the season. Also Sporting is just really good this season 🤷♂
@@lazarfarkas441 we should also mention that EHF CL for years now has turned down wild card applications from the likes of Kadetten Schaffhausen ( or other teams ) btw , to be honest they must feel pretty upset about this & sort of hopeless about the future , always being excluded from EHF CL group phase .......
@@lazarfarkas441But then, why not letting teams from Sweden or Switzerland to play at Champions League, so that the commission could fill the gaps let by Russia and Belarus ?
They played really well in the Danish league last season. They advanced to the top from out of nowhere in no time. Seems like they’re a bit overwhelmed by it all now.
