Even though I prefer mechanical movements, there's no denying that that is an amazingly beautiful watch. I must admit I had no idea Frederique Constant is such a new brand. Due to their superbly beautiful classical designs and the fact that the brand is often mentioned in horological circles, I just assumed it had a much longer history.

Hi Mal, it's good to have you back making videos on watches. It's funny how our collections have many overlaps because I own the 28.6mm model of this watch. I switched the strap immediately as I also didn't like the leather strap either and wanted a softer strap in the tan colour. It used to be my thinnest dress watch before I bought my 2nd Credor, this is still my 'Calatrava'. Frédérique constant is definitely breaking the glass ceiling. Their tourbillon meteorite took the industry by storm, and they'll only keep making waves, I'm sure.

I always mess with the name cause it remembers me too strong on Vacheron. But understand that they create great watches! A friend of mine got one for his 18th birthday. I myself was inspired by the idea of getting a watch to the 18th birthday but I took the nomos club sport you review back then. Thank you for the Review! Really nice watch. The only thing I am not so sure about is the small second. I think I would have prefered it without a seconds hand but then again mayby the dial would be too plain? One thing is for sure Frederique Constant have such a good offering in affordable watches. Great review and love your enthusiasm!
Hi checkmate, I think that you are absolutely right in the sense that you have to go with what talks to you ! Me I fell in love with the small second a long time ago and I always want one ! I like it so much on classics, it adds another dimension to the dial and is one of the best way to create the tracking of a second without the stress of a big second hand ticking non stop reminding you to hurry :). Here it's more subtle if you see what I mean ? And I agree with you, in some cases a plain dial is nice, but on this one, it just makes sense. The second, when it's an automatic, sweeps, and I'm sure that you know that, but the ticking of quartz is less beautiful to watch, so imagine it on this watch. Less beautiful I would think, but with a small second, really nice and even beautiful and "interesting" to watch even on a quartz. Excellent comment checkmate :).
Hi Duc, it was 2 years ago ! On a boutique called "Ocarat" near the Louvre in Paris. They were doing sales so I jumped on it. It's either you wait for sales or you buy it second hand. Sometimes they are still new ! That's how I would do if I had to buy it again...
