If I'm not mistaken, I think this version is 39mm (maybe that's why it looks bigger than what you thought) I'm just now looking into these and it looks like the 37mm version does not have a date. I could be wrong though. It's sort of confusing all of their models and model names.

Correct. The one here is 39 mm, the one without the date complication is 37 mm. The 37 mm wears small on my wrist.

I know what you mean, but the quartz movement allows for it to be this thin. Very thin automatic movements would make this cost so much more.

I would keep looking put for sales. Perseverance with the hunt is what pays off. Also, keep looking on ukhotdeals for deals that people share. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
