You can tell his influences are from the fusion world. He plays his solos like a wood or brass instrument. Space and flurries of notes. Really great stuff.
Catch 33 is such a masterpiece , still my favourite album of theirs . The space in the solo is amazing . These boys are next level musicians , also love their integrated use of tech and live instruments .
@@justevan877 I think it's because Fredrik don't endorse their product anymore, so they remove his video. Companies do that when they cut ties with partners. But I am not definite.
I believed the original video was deleted because a parody made by Ola Englund where the solo of Mr Thordendal was mixed with a Disney backingtrack... 🤷♂️
The best thing is that you can always come up with a "Fredrik solo", because its mostly improvised and you can just noodle around the neck and something will sound great. It's a great fun.
Paying homage to Holdsworth primarily with other jazz and fusion legends incorporated... that's a good thing and I really like his appreciation and individual style..👍
Always refreshing when something outside of the box comes along. outside the same old genre. Although everything has pretty much been done, there is always uncharted space. That was cool. Progressive. Jazz. Fusion. Djentrifreud. Metallic.
Listen binaural music for meditation, it's actual science and that's why it works. Meditation to this kind of music would be purely esoteric. It wouldn't even promote good and proper breathing as you would be breathing in and out at differing intervals because of the tempo. It wouldn't work in the way meditation is supposed to work.
@@zeal0tseven57 fair do's I'm not judging I can understand how it calms you it calms me too in some ways but when I personally listen to binaural music things like my breathing becomes effortless etc..
That's my point it really works so I suggested that it may legit work for you...don't get me wrong I'm going to see meshuggah and tool in may so I'm all for the pitch bends etc interestingly meshuggah use the key of e flat a lot which is synonymous with jazz it's just 2 or 3 octaves below
The guitar in this video is an Ibanez M8M, and it's both Fredrik and Mårten's signature guitar. They share a signature model. But you're right, a few years ago Fredrik also got another signature, the FTM33, which is the Iceman you're talking about.
I know they don't play this live. I guess they just drop tuned for that section at 2:04 while tracking? Because he's obviously playing that low F as an open string during the intro.
Solo it's either the shortest and longest Solo in history or I'm missing 100 notes that should be in this song but it's wasted on only like six or seven notes this is straight boring give me your equipment and guitar so I can use it for something good
The position markers are on the top of the board. Most likely. Position markers probably the least of his problems, the guy is a maniac. The spider-esque finger technique he uses for shredding is completely unique. I've only seen Buckethead doing something similar. Nostrum is also a great track displaying some shredding
