My neighbor just bought a 4x4 version of that one in great condition for $600. They were great 4-wheelers that rivaled the Honda Fourtrax 300, but the main complaint I hear is that it is hard to find aftermarket parts to keep them on the road. People end up using them as parts machines to keep the existing ones on the road.
Kawasaki Bayou 220 n I got one in my shop. For the size and 2 wheel drive it's actually very impressive. I've beat and banged on my in extreme terrain and even rolled it big time and its still going. It's fun w the 5 speed but a all day trip will wear you out. You got a little gem sir!
They don’t like cold weather either mine always had to warm up an then it ran good when I can walk up to my Honda right now and it’ll start damn near first pull in 50 degree weather after 3 months of not running
thats not what is for,yes is a compression release but not for water..lol.its for when you pulling it over with the recoil, its makes it easier to pull over when you push the lever down.nothing to do with water in engine at all!!
Kawasaki Bayous take a lickin and keep on tickin. Loud tick noise probably valves need adjusting. Bayou motors are noisy though. Mine makes a whirring noise and I think it is how the gears in the tranny were machined.
Try adding in some stp with bars stop leak into the motor oil. It's got zinc additive in that oil treatment product.,or could just buy straight zinc additives to put into your motor oil instead.& Shake it up really good in the quarts.,or one gallon jug instead either one.
