"GridScape" is a free After Effects preset that will let you quickly arrange a large number of layers into a custom 2D or 3D grid. To download, go to www.CreationEffects.com and head to the Freebies page. If you download the GridScape, please like or comment below.
Place the .ffx files into your Presets folder and you'll always able to access the effect in After Effects. You can space multiple layers out evenly, or randomly (or a combination of both), on all three axes. Customize the grid spacing, and control the Position, Scale, and Rotation of all the layers together using easy controls on separate Control Layer. Set the number of layers you want in each row (X axis), column (Y axis), or layer (Z axis). GridScape can be used on Solid layers, Shape layers, Precomp layers, Footage, or Images.
