Same, the Studer alone does the trick but of coarse we all get carried away, I’m 38 plugs in including 12 unison just came with interface purchases and Black Friday

I have this kind of stuff covered, between U-he Satin, Softube Tape, P42 Climax etc. but… this one does sound good too.

@@sub-jec-tiv The only ones that sound reaal to me are the UA Studer A800 and iKmultimedia's ones - they both have the tape reels I know the sound of from the 80's and 90's. And to me, they sound legit. The others, like U-he Satin sound like an attempt to sound like tape but not real tape. The Satin sounds nice on vocals though - nice and crispy.

An OUTPUT knob would be even nicer… hiding gain behind a $99, soon to be $200 paywall 😂 Yes, obviously you can put a gain plugin after it but wow

That's where Reaper comes in it has a mix knob for every plugin 😉

beware of the too cool graphics instead of effort on sound

Graphics are pretty good. They should fly s Phillips head in and open the box and show the all the electronics inside.

ALL plugins are distortion boxes.

Man, IK's are really good but they're huge CPU hogs.

Do you mean these analog machines? The IK plugs are more similar to the UA’s Oxide/Studer/Ampex tape emulations in terms of functions, capability and learning curve IMHO. For what it’s worth I have them all they are all great (as is Softube Tape) and each company’s suites can produce top class results if you put in the hours to understand their features and best usage. I tend to use Softube Tape and the UA stuff (particularly Oxide) the most - rarely reach for the IK but got it for nothing in one of their mega group buys. IK still great stuff but I haven’t put in the hours to really know them all and have no need to. Also +1 for RC20 as a general analog-sim-flava-box. I doubt I would find any use for these Analog Machines but will load the freebie onto my system for kicks.

I think they would like to put out more branded plugins, but there might be licensing issues. In times when they made contracts with all those brands they might have signed a contract to release them only as DSP.

@@hlgrf8876I agree with you, that's definitely what it seems like; BUT I would imagine they'd see this coming. They're probably trying to find a way to keep making a lot of money while also giving the people what they want. Not sure, just what it comes across as.

I had this issue too. The phasing must be some tape modulation algorithm waving on those other 3 models. I wish we could control it. If the paid version can turn off the wobble 100% then it shouldn't be an issue.

@@clydesapere1977 Yes, you are correct. I'm currently demo'ing the paid version and when the "wobble control" is turned all the way down the phasing goes away. 👍

In regards to the video, it may be usefull for Dark ambient producers, lofi hip hop, vaporwave, but if you have izotope vinyl for free and a free vst saturator don't get the point paying for it, it may sound better but if the idea is to "lo fi" your production why would you go for this one.

@Eph2.8-9 That is my point: If you not have a dongle by now, this FREE plugin will cost you at least 60 bucks. There is no free lunch!

You don’t need dongle or Cloud connection for the free Verve Essentials. It runs as machine license. You do need the ilok software however.

But even more, both the UA- and iLok-software permanently try to connect to the internet. Which is a PITA, because my studio computer is not connected. I dislike it, that at a "free" plugin, but even more on products I paid for. I avoid UA and warn everybody about that unpleasant behaviour. Other companies, like Klevgrand or Melda and many more, make good plugins and do NOT treat their customers as if they were pirating. Thx for your patience.

def agree with you that theres too much choice. probably could have cut out the four "beige" ones and kept the colorful orange and blue ones with more controls

@@who_is_dis i own the oxide tape from uad, donwload the studer demo....same highly priced stuff. This is free. The first machine sounds like 15 IPS studer, second like 7 IPS studer, the others just dont use them. Free.

Don’t wait for others to tell you if it’s good or not. Some like it, some don’t. Truth is there’s no good or bad plugin. Try it, UAD offers a demo for every plugin. If you like what you hear and if you think « uh, I’d like to use this on my music », then it’s good for you.

Where do you get that info from? UA doesn't mention it on their website. P. S.: I downloaded it into UA Connect - like it was a paid plugin. And I expect it to work without time limit - just like the others.
