This game is a really cool idea, but the netcode is just trash. A platformer needs to feel precise, but sometimes the game just screws you over.

This games concept has so much promise, but the execution is pretty terrible. A game of this genre done right would be amazing.

@-- Connectivity seems like a big issue to improve upon for starters, general polish maybe? I only played it once or twice, but a game like rapture rejects just didn't feel good, but personally I love SAR, even though what little of rapture I played was pretty similar, it just was not it. Could be 'something better' in similar veins for this game, perhaps. Maybe it can become that something better.

This game could benefit from the Ratz Instagib color editing. You can change the enemy and environment saturation. Probably could benefit from locking the camera so you're in the middle of the screen.

Really? Are people that clueless about the differences between these games? In Mario Royale the players cannot interact with each other directly. That makes things much more difficult on the netcode side (which was not in any way flawless in Mario Royale, btw).

The idea for this game is ok but the execution is trash. The fact that they released it despite the issues shows that it's just another case of RU-vidrs taking advantage of their popularity to push garbage on their viewers.

@@lucasnadamas9317 I'm pretty sure the game isn't fully finish yet, early access and beta isn't new, which means it's still being worked on. And it's largely free. I get the marketing bothered some people, but I think it's kinda blown out of proportion. I, personally, didn't see anything wrong with it.

@@icelandicbanks6473 Basically people are up in arms about a few videos Arin posted concerning a supposed "undiscovered" game for the Dendy (an old Russian bootleg console that was basically the Soviet version of the NES). It turned out that said 'game' wasn't actually real and the whole thing was a marketing scheme for this game. Which I will admit is a clever way to market a game like this and certainly had me fooled, but has upset a lot of people who are into retro games and game culture because they feel lied too.

I wouldn't even say that it's visually busy, I think it has more to do with the fact that you're thrown right into it. I.e. most platformers first level is essentially a tutorial. That and NL can be pretty dense at times.

For those who are curious: One (1) Arin Hanson of Game Grumps had came into ownership of a really old gaming device, and there happened to be one game on it that he couldn't get to work. After the longest period of time, after research and obtaining the right number of parts to get it TO work, and with the help of a friend of if, he discovered that it held within the first Platformer Battle Royale style game, and thusly decided to turn it into this: Soviet Jump Game. The video is on RU-vid, so if this wasn't clear enough then go ahead and watch the video!
