Now, that's what I'm talking about!! EXCELLENT information! I'm just starting to do my research for my upcoming GC trip. The 1st video I watched happened to be by a popular YT couple - and it was such a waste of my time. It was mostly about them and very little about any relevant details. Thank you for this one - it was so helpful and exactly what I was looking for!! 😘

@@ThisNomadicIdea would it be too hot to camp in July?
@ThisNomadicIdea
@ThisNomadicIdea 2 года назад
@@richardlee9207 No, warm but you’re at 8,000 ft elevation at there will be a lot more people. Make your reservations early at Jacobs Lake Campground. Or just boondock up there.

So we wont need a permit to camp on the north rim of the grand canyon (not inside the canyonn but basically the rim)?
@ThisNomadicIdea
@ThisNomadicIdea 2 года назад
You do NOT need a permit to camp in the Kaibab National Forest. In fact, you can camp right on the edge of the North Rim. -:) - Scott

@@ThisNomadicIdea I have been using this area for years, and I love it for all the reasons you list in your breathless presentation. I wonder how long the no permit policy will last with this unneeded publicity. Yes it’s free, free, free…, but managing our national forest costs big money. More people equals more fire risk, rescues, sanitation issues, vehicle recovery, damage mitigation, road maintenance, trash removal, etc. Did you take even a minute to reflect on the consequences of posts like this?
@ThisNomadicIdea
@ThisNomadicIdea 9 месяцев назад
@@CountryB4Party If it’s too costly they should close it. It’s our tax dollars and it’s called public not private. As the Government takes more and more of our freedoms away, you are quite right to say they will soon take away our tax payer public lands. How dare we use what we pay for.
@CountryB4Party

@@ThisNomadicIdeaI never said don’t use it. But I think it’s irresponsible to publicize it to the masses. Everything you like about the area will change for the worse if people follow your advice. Doesn’t that strike you as a tad contradictory and irresponsible? But I guess you answered my question. You absolutely have NOT seriously thought about the potential impact to public lands of channels like yours. I can’t wait for the episode where you give up van life because you can’t find a place to park your rig. Or the pristine special campsite you return to that’s now covered in shit and trash. Or the one where you’re complaining that you have to pay for a permit to park on the Kaibab when it used to be free, Free, FREE.
