BEAUTIFUL white sand, and blue tropical waters is why Tai Long Wan has Hong Kong's best beaches. 🏖️ Did I mention waterfalls and rock pools. And that's why it's a perfect place to go camping, away from the madness of the city. Let's go!
I did a weekend trip to this slice of paradise in the Sai Kung Country Park during the 2019 Qing Ming holiday weekend, which was a great way to spend the weekend in Hong Kong, where I live.
Check it out, and feel free to ask any questions in the comments below if you want more info.

A beach in Hong Kong?! Not what I expected. I think of a big city with huge skyscrapers. Fun fact, Hong Kong was the first place I ever visited but I was a teeny toddler so sadly don't remember it 😂 What a gorgeous view of the coastline at 1:18. Oh cows on the beach too! Camping on the beach looks so fun. Oh no, lukewarm tea doesn't sound like my kind of thing. Gotta be a hot cuppa! Lol at the loud cows. The rubbish is awful :( I hate when people dump it like that! OMG, that pile of trash pisses us off! What is the matter with people?!?! Looks like a nice place to take a cool-off dip. Good thing you weren't killed by the cows, lol. @XennialTraveller

The tent rental, I think was about $20. They must make a killing since those tents can't have cost more than $60-$70, but seeing as I don't go camping much these days not worth me buying a tent and then carrying it. And yeah, these remote beaches in Hong Kong do have a lot of wild cows. They really are quite scary 😂 That's my friend Leigh, who also lives here in HK. 😉

It's usually not so crowded, but on Mainland China public holidays they do tend to come over to Hong Kong, and to be blunt, those large groups are also almost always the culprits for leaving rubbish like that. Hong Kong actually has lots of beaches. Hong Kong itself is an island (and not that big), and has a number of other islands surrounding it that makes up the territory. Honestly, some of the beaches are amazing. I feel like I've been away on holiday some weekends. Hopefully you guys get to visit at some point and you can seek out things beyond the main city, as the outdoors well worth seeing. Sigh, trash... I do despair for humanity sometimes. Good video. The beaches were not that crowded compared to other places in the world. Your video did a good job pointing out both the good and bad (garbage left by people) of the location. I never realized that Hong Kong had isolated beaches nearby. Good job!
@XennialTraveller
@XennialTraveller 4 года назад
Yeah, you're right. A standard weekend in Bondi Beach in Sydney would be way more crowded, right? Actually, this is one of the more remote beaches in Hong Kong, which is why. The closer ones (like Repulse Bay) are way more crowded and less nice. Unfortunately these big organised groups are really bad for leaving garbage - they should really ban such groups or patrol it and make sure they're taking their rubbish. Thanks for watching! :D

Wow the bet beach of hongkong. I am intrested immediatly. Good sentence to get people attention. Wow really that strange structure is a star gazing sight. That funny. Great video! We spent the summer free camping around Europe (as much as we could anyway) it was maybe more stealth camping so there was rarely anyone else around! Thanks! Free camping is the best. I remember the first time my friend brought me camping in the UK and we rocked up to a campsite with caravans next to us watching TV! I was like... erm, this is not how we camp in Malaysia ;) Haha, every so often someone notices the Welsh twang. I don't really even know where I got that since I lived in Bristol. It gets stronger when I'm drunk apparently. Thanks for watching. Will need to check out your camping videos too! :D
@the40thstep
@the40thstep 4 года назад
@@XennialTraveller Yep, camping in the UK and Europe can be very different! Not to everyone's taste, that's for sure! It's a pity we didn't actually get to complete any vlogs while we camped - mainly because we had to be sneaky! You're only allowed to put your tent up at around 7pm (ish) and take it down by 9am - bivouacing is allowed but 'camping' is not. So we'd be battling the dark if we left it too late and we'd just fall into bed and then quickly pack up the next day. I'm Welsh so I'm always on the look out for other Welshies - but I also lived in Bristol so my accent is also a bit muddled. But my Welshness definitely comes out when I'm drunk!!! 😁😂

I've been to Hongkong several times but we never went out of the city. Always Disneyland, Mongkok and just the regular places. Lol. I didn't know that Hongkong has a white beach so this is good to know. It has a big shore which is good. And camping on the beach is always the best. Do you actually need to go up the mountain just to reach the beach? Oh and good thing lighting a bonfire is not prohibited. I always miss the sunrise whenever I go camping on the beach. Not really a morning person. Lol. And wow, that rubbish :( it hurts me when people leave heaps of rubbish on the mountains or on the beaches. It is killing mother nature. Camping is pretty much open all year round. It's not really restricted on these beaches, although some of the ones closer to the city I guess you can't just camp anywhere. But you don't want to be camping during a typhoon. Repulse is pretty good, but go a little further up the coast and you get to South Bay Beach which is even nicer. Thanks for watching!
