This came along at just the right time. I'm having my sister and best friend come over on Black Friday for them to make cards for the first time. You've made that exponentially easier. Thanks.
This is such a great video for beginners and a great reminder of how fast production lined cards can come together. Lots of ladies get through the holidays and find they have extra cards left over. I am happy to get them in the hands of Cancer patients. I always make tons of Christmas cards so I can put the rest in my stash for next year's card drive. Often in November when I am putting the packets of 5 cards together for them, I end up with nothing but beautiful cards that are feminine. So after I get my personal cards out I will do a few of these great card layouts and make men, children, or holiday cards so I can make some more packets. This year I got 1700 packets completed but still had close to 700 cards left that were all feminine. So I can do a few layouts for men and children to try to use up what we have left over. So it reminds me to say how much I appreciate your card sketches and the easy way to make lots of cards quickly. You are a blessing to many Jess. ❤
@jennifermaddock4382 you can take them to any cancer center and donate them to patients. I'm sorry I don't have anyone to collect them in Canada though. I donate to Winship cancer center at Emory.
Wow! These are so cool! You are the first person I have seen that mentions A-6 cards. It’s a great size for teaching card making as it has a larger size to work with. I teach Seniors at our local center once a month and they enjoy creating cards on their own. I’ve had to adjust the measurements I see in videos to make them fit A-6, so I really appreciate these templates! Thank You❣️
Well I'm late to the party but I absolutely love this class! Thank you so much Jess, for the class and for thinking of us non US viewers with these versatile designs! ❤
Keep one of each card as a reference and make a note on the back of who got that card and which year. Can also include a copy of the cutting plan folded up on the inside. Then when you pull the card out of your card file, you have all the info you need to make more.
Great Class! I love the suggestions and tips along the way! Thank you for the reminder not to overthink emblishments! I stuggle with that all the time! As far as cards are concerned I never make the same card the following year! I take pictures of the special cards for reference for the next year. That goes with all Birthday cards, Anniversary cards,, or any cards I make!
Absolutely perfect video, especially for beginner crafters. I wish that I had something like this video when I started. Outstanding video, Jess. Well done!❤❤❤
Really enjoyed this, Jess! Your paper choices were really pretty together, and that ephemera pack really made quick work of decorating each card in a unique way. Also, thank you for putting together your 'places to donate' list; I sent off 2 boxes of cards today to different organizations. I appreciate all you do putting sketches and videos together to help us make beautiful cards!
Bought the workbook and these are amazing especially for donations for any age! I love your channel especially because your templates are easy to use and I don’t need any super expensive tools.
I looked up the tape you recommend on the tape jungle website. One of the options is 72 rolls that cost $178. Each role is 36 yards. That works out to 2592 yards. That’s approximately one and a half miles!! I didn’t see anywhere on that website to order a smaller quantity 😖
That is certainly a lot of tape. I just looked at the 1/4 inch option (fits my glider) and I could change the pack size to 12, 24, or 144 rolls. At the risk of sounding a little obsessed. I did order 144 of them about two years ago and don’t regret it and they still work just as well as the day I bought them.
Hello, Jess 👋 Thank You So Much for this Class! I have all the things and have never been to a real class learning to make. I really wanted to find somewhere or someone, but no success. I am So Happy and Grateful for your beginner class!! Also, regarding the ATG gun, do you show how to load it? I followed the directions, but it Im getting confused!😤Thank You again, I needed to see this class!!❤
Hi! I'm so happy the class was helpful to you! Here's a link to my video about refilling the ATG: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E3VTCmv5pLY.html
What a great class! I’m in the south Denver area and as you know, we don’t have any scrapbooking/papercrafting independent stores in our area.😢 Would love it if you ever were to consider doing an in person class. That would be a lot of fun! Happy Thanksgiving!🦃🍁
Happy Thanksgiving! I will keep that suggestion in mind. Have you been to Simple Pleasures Stamps in Colorado Springs? simplepleasuresstamps.com/ or Recreative Denver? www.recreativedenver.org/ Not sure how close either is but thought they might be worth knowing about.
Thanks! Yes, sometimes I make the drive down there and also sometimes order from their Tuesday night Facebook Live sessions. I recently heard of recreate and thought I’d get over there sometime. I also have some donations for them. 👍
Jess, I would like to say Thank you so much, whenever I put cardstock on the top for the top,my pieces always came out crooked, never straight. I really like the way you put them to the edge. Are we allowed to do this your way????
Hi Jess, I really love these sketches, especially Sketch 1! I am wondering if you think I could adjust the dimensions and use these sketches to make 5x7 cards? If so, do you have any thoughts on how much bigger each piece would have to be cut? I realize that I may have some scraps left, but the Christmas card bases I have already ordered are 5x7. I really like the look and the ease of making these without mats behind each piece. Thank you for any information you can provide.
Hi Lorrie, thank you for your kind words. I think for 5x7 you could try paper cut at 4x6, 3x5, and 2x3. Those would be simple measurements and give a pretty similar effect. Maybe try it with some copy paper to make sure you like the proportions.
@@JessCrafts You are very welcome! Thank you so much for your response, and for some measurements to try! I appreciate it more than I can say! I will let you know how it turns out. Thank you again, and Happy Holidays to you and yours!
Good morning! I have some 6x6 white cardstock and want to use them up. Can anyone point me in the direction of some sketches to use with 6x6 CARDS not 6x6 paper. (As 6x6 paper usually uses an A2 sized card) Thank you
A well paced and clearly presented demonstration. I was fascinated by your smooth flowing banter. And, of course, the cards turned out well. I'm looking forward to trying the patterns for my next batch of cards.
