Hi there and thanks for checking out this video walking you through how to build a church website. The best part is that you don’t actually have to do any of the building since I’ve already done that heavy lifting.
All you have to do is download the free template, import it into your site, and then edit the text and images to match your church.

You can setup an Elementor template to do this. Search how to create a single post template :)

This is a WordPress template which means it uses PHP since WordPress is PHP. But you could easily build your membership area using WordPress OR you could build your own python based system and just put it on a subdomain and link to it from the main site.

I am in charge of getting a website up before the end of the year of 2024. More than enough time lol but our church has a tight budget and I'm looking forward to your expertise in helping me. I was wondering though if (in the background where the picture is) could there be a video to where it can be maybe people worshipping? Would that be possible? or no. Please let me know when you can. What would be the cost for everything that you would need to get the website up and running outside of domain and hosting. Also, would I be able to change things on the site at any time if need be as the church begins to grow? Let me know what you think, thanks Anthony

Are you hosting with A2 Hosting? If so, email me and I can help. Ben@dennysystems.com You can also try to refresh the page and try to upload again. However sometimes the issue is with the hosting and some settings have to be changed to fix it. It definitely shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes (never hours).

There are ways to customize the WordPress admin dashboard to make it simpler and not show all options. www.codeinwp.com/blog/how-to-simplify-the-wp-admin/ What are you looking for in terms of a custom dashboard? For some sites, we embed a calendar and embed the RU-vid channel. This means if someone uploads a video or adds an event to the calendar, the site automatically reflects these.

Hey Ben, does this offer / website also include coding for tithes and giving. Can a tithes page be added with a secure payment processes?

You can connect it to any 3rd party tithe/giving provider. Just simply add a link in the menu or a button on the page that goes to the unique URL/page they give you. You cannot process payments directly on the site (nor do you want to since it comes with a ton of security obligations). Tithely & Subsplash are 2 platforms I've used with good success.

I would but this isn’t a basic HTML site. This is a WordPress template. Which means it requires PHP and a database to work.

Right click the background image, click the top edit button. Then you should be able to set the background image for the section.

Just the domain name. A website requires two thing. 1. Domain name (example.com). 2. Web hosting. The domain points to the web hosting. The web host provides the software and storage for the files that make up the site. This template gets uploaded to your host and the domain points to the host.

Yes you can. I just put out a video explaining the best options: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IDc1E6p-dM4.html It is possible to upload videos directly to the site but not recommended. Instead, use something like RU-vid or Vimeo and embed them into the site. The above video explains how to embed videos using the builder this template uses, Elementor.

A domain is like an address for your website on the internet. It's what people type into their web browser to visit your site. For example, "google.com" is a domain name. Hosting, on the other hand, is the physical space where your website's files are stored on a server. Think of it like the house at the address. When someone types in your domain name (the address), they're directed to your hosting server (the house), which then serves up the website (the contents of the house). You need BOTH a domain and hosting.
