BREAKDOWN:
Every so often I make a beat that i love and will just listen to on repeat because i love how it stands on its own... like with no vocals on top of it. Usually this happens when i execute a sound to the best of my current ability. On this beat, I was going for "Are We Still Friends?" vibes. I found this sample and the chords reminded me of that song instantly, so i knew what i had to do. I kept the drums relatively simple on this (i didnt want them to take up too much space in the mix) and i wanted this beat to slowly build and reach a climax towards the end. I think i did this really good, and something that helped me was switching the bass twice. I started off with a standard stock bass in FL, then moved to a fuzz bass once the synths come in, and then to a synth bass towards the end. I love how "crowded" the synths feel in this, giving the beat a bit of a distorted feel at times without me actually using too much distortion. I really hope yall like this beat as much as i do.
