I like the quote on your website that the more vulnerable and helpless the creature the more it is our responsibility as humans to be kind to them. This rescue is such an inspiration!

It upsets me so much to think of coyotes tearing into them! What an awful person to leave helpless pregnant piggies outside! The Good Samaritan that brought them to the rescue saved their lives!

I get sad and mad that some humans see animal lives as disposable. All life is important no matter how small. Thank you for taking them in, even though you are so full....you are a hero to the piggies 100%...🙏🏻

I feel bad because I have 2 Guinea pigs and that’s how I found them in a box on the side of a side walk and I took them home and took them to vet one was under weight and he didn’t make it and the one that made it she is my best friend now and her name is honey

Though it is not good that they were dumped this way, they are clean, not too thin, don’t appear to have health problems or external parasites, and were not freaked-out spooky. Someone has been caring for them, up to this point. Thank you for accepting them and I know they have a shot at a good life, from here on. ❤️

I am so glad those babies were found. Its so awful that humans would do this to innocent animals. I have two guinea pigs who were in the same situation just like those little ones. They were found on the side of the road in a cage that said free on a warm April Day with no water and no hay. A lady found them and took them to the humane society. A week after they were found, I adopted them. One of the brothers passed away from cancer in October 2020, but the other one is still around and kicking at 5 and a half with a new little friend.

I love this whole rescue group! Lucky piggies to land here but sad to have people do what they do. I’m in Oregon and took my piggies to a specialty vet who’s vet tech was horrendous and cursed this rescue group essentially for educating owners and empowering them. I am so thankful for all of you! 💜

At least they got to the best place they could be. Saskia, I can see and understand how hard it is in moments like this, so many little piggies in need of a good home, and no adoptions, not only that, new piggies keep arriving and not only that, girls like them are pregnant and that means more babies. But you love them and all that hard work makes wonders everyday. It will be ok, all of them and those that haven't come yet, will be fine because of you. I found my two girls abandoned in a pissy poopy box that could barely fit one of them. It was Saint Patrick’s day last year 20 degrees and below by a river coyotes and feral cats frequently hunt. It was a miracle that I found them- Actually it was a miracle they found ME 🐹 ❤️ 🐹 I would dive into freezing water to save them today and couldn’t imagine not knowing how something someone else viewed as garbage is a true treasure

Hätte ein schlangenhalter sie gefunden, hätte er sich über die Babys aus Futter gefreut 😑 ich hasse es, dass die Leute keine Verantwortung für ihr Tun übernehmen, bevor so etwas passiert und diese an andere abgeben. Und dass diese Leute meist nicht erwischt werden. Dann müssten sie eine hohe Geldstrafe an die Notstation zahlen, die sie gerettet hat. Das wäre nur fair. Ich wünsche dir viele Spenden, um auch die neuen Meerschweinchen finanzieren zu können.

Last week my son found 2 inside small carry, someone dumped in a wood side near a supermarket. Now I taking care. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But is sad when people do things like that.

I don't understand how anyone can do that to such adorable little piggies and abandon them like bigger animals like cats and dogs won't try hurt them, so glad they were found and that they're being taking care of now.

What sweethearts! Poor babies. There should be like a PSA campaign for taking care of Guinea Pigs and not just throwing them out. Especially if they’re pregnant. you are a life savior for taking in these piggies they’re all so cute and I wish I could adopt at least one. Sadly I do live on the other side of the US and have no space for another piggie.

so sad, this morning i got an email with someone wanting to surrender 7 piggies that they somehow were unable to separate and kept having babies :( i just don’t have much room, but i can make it work.

It was nice to see that despite the attempt to dispose of them, they were tame and seemed reasonably used to being handled. I guess someone decided "too much". I noticed you used terms like "market", and it is sad that often animals are seen as a product rather than lives to be welcomed into a family. Hopefully these and the rest are able to find forever homes. One of my kids recently got a pair of guinea pigs and she loves them and they certainly love her right back. That's what all these piggies should have for a life.

Poor girls. If it was even possible for me I would take them. I really enjoy taking care of my little guys but I don't have any more space. I'm glad they brought them to you, at least they're safe

So cute. I can understand why they are scared being left in the park like that. I am so happy that the person found them and got them to you for good care. I am saddened though that people abandon animals no matter what the animal is. All life is precious and deserves love and care.

Hooman put us in box. We got taken to Guinea pig village. We gets a snack and water.

There are no guinea pig rescues here in India, you can only get store bought ones. Absolutely sucks that there are so many guinea pigs on the other side of the world in desperate need of a home, and I can't adopt them. I would choose adopting these helpless babies over supporting those pet store chains any day. :( I hope they all find a home soon.

If I was close I would adopt them I was a vet tech for 18 years and we did exotics also I have two Guinea pigs now had a lot over the years I live in Indiana so I’m to far away. I was also a wild life rehaber fo 25 years for the state of Indiana

I wish so much I could adopt a guinea pig from Saskia! It's hard to believe, but where I live in Atlanta GA, there isn't even a "real" rescue that is still in operation (there is ONE that I have found, but they don't actually house guinea pigs, they just have a few people who foster), and every time I check there are only bonded pairs available. I just need one female companion for my poor lonely Tenzing, and I HATE to buy from a pet store. :( I'm sure there isn't an actual shortage of guinea pigs here, but it almost seems that way! I've never heard of them being in shelters. I guarantee they are not overpopulated like in California. Maybe we should open a satellite adoption site here and fly some over? (Is anybody here from Georgia? It's even harder to adopt a guinea pig where I was living before, near Columbus GA.)

Guinea pigs are like chikens in Perú... just Food. We have one (lucy) and we love her :)

- I just wish I could take care of one of the pregnant guinea pig ladies! Many years ago I had guinea pig babies and I loved it. The problem is that I live in Sweden so it's not possible. I have had guinea pigs since 1969 until 2012. I have been very ill but I'm better and need guinea pigs very much. They look like they have been well cared for aside from being pregnant and abandoned in a box. If I was local I would take all 3. All of my pigs have been unwanted when I got them. One was living with a goat in a barn stall.

I can’t believe people would just leave them in a box in a park. They could be eaten or abused by someone 😡. I think people need to be educated on how to sex their pigs so there are no surprise litters !! Thank you so much for taking these beautiful pigs in😊

i rescued 3 boys in jan...their nails AND teeth were long and separated...always fighting when together with their old owner.....so i cut their claws - using carrots and other hard veggies to file their teeth....so they have out door time with the other 5 i have (OFC females' and males are separated)....i hated thier names for they were not cute- so i renamed NOTCH "peanut" EROs as "toasty" and the other boy to "Pippy" or Pipsqueek. its the life of an animal rescuer and im happy for it

It was a nearby park? With google and all the other tools available today they could have at least find the rescue and taken them there instead. Just leaving guinea pigs in a box at the park hoping some caring person will find them before a predator does or they overheat or get dehydrated... I don't know what to say. Very fortunate that someone found them and brought them to the rescue.

Thank god they went to you. I hope there where no more that people have taken from the bench. And there all pregnant , wanting for this situation to happen again 😢

I can’t believe people just drop animals off wherever and wash their hands of them. It’s so sad and disheartening. I wish I lived close so I could volunteer at the shelter and maybe foster a few piggies. I’d love to get my Champ a buddy from you but I’m all the way in Southern Kentucky/almost Tennessee and have no way to get there and back. Thank you for taking these girls in, even though you didn’t have the space. You’re a Godsend and a Guinea Pig Angel that’s for sure!
