Reynolds texted Chris Evans if he wanted to do the cameo. He said, "Sure if you can make it fast, I'm right in the neighbourhood". He dropped in, they shot the scene and he left all in less than 5 minutes.

Such a good movie. So many cool references. After Disney bought Fox the creators of the movie asked what they could use and Disney gave them the green light to use pretty much whatever they want.

Wow, Disney was very kind to this Fox movie and Ryan Reynolds to not put it on Disney+. Maybe the distributors of Free Guy learned from the mistakes of Black Widow, assuming the same person made the theater decisions on both films.

4:45 - why so mean? It's one of the worst things for a waitress: you are about close, you are tired, ready to go home and so a**holes are sitting at their table talking, not eating, just talking. And after they deign to get up and leave, you still have to clean their table and area. People, asking as a former waitress, please don't stay up to closing, it's an IMMENSE inconvenience to people.

@@ScarlettM You can be irritated. But you never blatantly say to anyone how irrelevant they are to you, how you absolutely don't care about them. I'm from the country where tipping means to round the price up - 1 dollar is 20 our crowns. So if I pay 36 crowns for a coffee, I'll round it to 40 - and those 4 crowns (= 20 US cents) are quite a good tip. But in USA, tips are vital for the waiter. Everyone says they should be at least 20% of the price. Well, this waitress would get no tip from me even here and especially in USA - it's bigger punishment there.

Saw this recently and loved it! Also the music that plays as Millie's theme (and when she and Guy kiss to make him remember and then near the end when she goes after Keys) is actually from a Disney short called Paperman, composed by the same guy Christophe Beck who's also done music for Frozen. At first it was driving me nuts because it sounded SO familiar yet I couldn't place it until I looked up the composer. It is a very cute short which I recommend checking out :)

"How'd they get the rights to that?!" - The film was the last one that was being made by 20th Century Fox before it was purchased by Disney. Shawn Levy (the director) and Ryan Reynolds, after the studio was purchased, asked Disney if they could include a couple of Disney properties, which Disney not only agreed to, but allowed them authentic props of Cap's Shield and the Lightsaber. And, they were extra cool by allowing non-Disney items to be featured, such as Mega Man's blaster, the Gravity Gun and the Portal Gun. Shawn Levy's films are pretty good. He directed the film Real Steel, and he is the producer, who also directed several episodes, of a little TV series called Stranger Things. I definitely recommend both. He also was the director of a trilogy of films that most people have forgotten called Night at the Museum trilogy.

This movie is the short, funny version of WestWorld. Not that it isn't good. Love both. If you like this, check out WestWorld, but expect much darker themes.

Not sure if you knew but Dwayne Johnson and Hugh Jackman both played Cameos in the movie. Hugh Jackman was the guy the girl shot in the alleyway and the Dwayne was the robber that got blasted by the shotgun during the robbery.

There are so many video game references here. I just noticed when Guy walks out of the bank and his nose is bleeding, It appears to be a direct reference to the original Doom. When the Doom Guy takes minor damage his face in the health bar gets a bloody nose. But when you pick up a health pack it heals.

I do not know where to begin.... I have a huge genera of movies that I am into depending on my mood , usually stay with ones that I have seen and watch again but I am always willing to try something New! I had not heard of this movie before coming here ; I didn't know Ryan Reynolds had a new movie out and this was a Shocker! Since I had no idea this movie was made I didn't have any expectations and this film gave me chills . This was such a surprise and delight I am still in awe from watching it . As far as new movies go for me in 2021... this one is going to be hard to top . There are so many scenes that impressed me as well as the script ; I have to thank Tim for sharing this incredible gem of a movie.... this really made my day Great.

If you liked this one, I recommend Night at the Museum by the same director starring Ben Stiller and Robin Williams. There's three of them, and the third one was Robin's last film before he passed away.

No it is a gravity gun from the other Valve game Half Life however Half Life is in the same universe as Portal the second gun he uses is a portal gun.

Another film by Shawn Levy I recommend is Real Steel. I believe it’s totally underrated and the visual effects still hold up. You should check it out.

A Great use of Disney's Copywrite property.... Amazing, considering other movies can't even say "Light Saber" and Chris Evans reaction was great!!! Whats next, Xmen mixed with Mickey Mouse.... LOL... Comparable to "Pixels" and "Ready Player One" along the same path as "Wreck it Ralph", Almost enough of them for its own catagory... Oh and who could forget "Jumanji"
