Important safety tip: If you suffer a burn, do NOT try to soothe it with ice or snow. This can cause further tissue damage, by sending it into shock. Tepid water is better, but believe it or not, after years of kitchen-work, i have found great results in covering the burned area in yellow mustard, and allowing it to dry there. Instant relief, and it re-moisturizes, and prevents blistering. Can be a little messy, tho.

Growing up the booby trap scenes were my fav but watching this now I really appreciate the family theme. Not just the ending when they reunite, but that side story with the old man was very heartwarming.

What I find absolutely hilarious about people reacting to Marv stepping on that nail is always one of two options: 1) Cringing in horror 2) Looking away and not daring to look Lastly, the tarantula was real.

22:22 starts the best moments of Home Alone for me. It's where it's heart lies. The rest is amusing slapstick but the dialogue between Roberts Blossom and Macaulay Culkin, the wonderful John Williams score in the church and the composer's take on Carol Of The Bells leading to the defense of the house hits me beyond the funny bone. In fact, it was William's score that made me want to watch this movie. The movie beautifully ends with Blossom reuniting with his son's family.

We had a Winn-Dixie around the corner from my house as a kid, and my grandmother would frequently give me some cash and a shopping list and send 8-year old me to pick stuff up for her. Especially after she broke her leg when she fell in the garage and had to spend almost a year in a wheelchair.

@@liliks14 hardly. Just different times/cultures. Did you know in Japan, it's customary to send a child out of their first solo errand around the age of 5-6? Most elementary school children walk or even take the train to school with their peers with virtually no adult supervision.

Yes! That was a REAL tarantula! Freaks me out every time. As for stepping on a nail on a staircase, that scenario makes me cringe in A Quiet Place. Not so much in Home Alone

@@ruthdeckman9781 Yes Daniel Stern is phobic to spiders, they told him they would use a toy, but the toy either broke or did look fake so they used the real one. Stern was ok with that, because Columbus promised him to remove the poison from the spider. But right when they put it on his face he said "Oh by the way, dont move we couldnt remove the poison or the animal would have died" thats when he started to scream thats sooo good.

Yes that was an actual Tarantula on Daniel Stern's face. The screaming was done live on-set as well, after he was assured Tarantulas don't have ears by the handlers.

You know, I love the theory that Kevin McAlister was the Jigsaw Killer as a kid. That's how he's so genius with his traps, and the evil savage part, too. Also, the part where Joe Pesci tries biting off Kevin's finger and gets hit in the head with the shovel, he accidentally bit Macauley Culkin's finger for real. I think he still has the scar from it.

Joe Pesci, who's known for his swearing, had to try very hard not to swear while on set; filming Goodfellas the same year certainly didn't help; Macaulay Culkin's younger brother Kieran plays Kevin's little cousin with the big glasses

One of the big movie theories out there, Did Kevin grow up to become John Kramer (Jigsaw)? He certainly knows how to use household, everyday objects to their worse possible means. Also, fun bit of trivia for you. In the final season of Friends, when Chandler and Monica go looking at the house in upstate new york, in the scene, you can actually see the McAllister house outside the window, as if the property theyre in is across the street.

If you watch close during the scene where they clean up the kitchen you can see Kevin's ticket is thrown away. That's why they didn't realize Kevin was left behind when they boarded the plane.

They should make a movie when Kevin receives a glitching microchip and an instruction book and install the chip in a computer type in a code pushing the delete button causing a malfunction that sucks Kevin right into the computer absorbing all the internet and gained superpowers Kevin has transformed into the freak phantom and later can switch back and forth by saying freak up and freak down.

this man 20:17 is the late Great John Candy. he is more well known for Planes, Trains and Automobiles but he was in some real funny stuff like Spaceballs and Cool Runners. he tragically died in 1994 at the young age of 43 from a heart attack. He was a great comedian and sad he died so young.

Of all the reactions of this film, you're the only ones to point out the significance of her counting the neighbors kid. The other significant piece is the plane ticket thrown out which is why they don't notice the missing corresponding kid

You don't know how much this movie is significant in latin America too, I saw it so many times when TV was the first entertaining source before the internet, about November 15 starting the christmas starting whit this home alone and home alone 2, but it was named something like "my poor little angel" referring about the "innocence" of the kid

I think the current Game Grumps (Arin Hanson and Dan Avidan) would make a great Harry and Marv. Hell, Dan looks similar to Daniel Stern, and both are of Jewish heritage.
