I asked another YT reviwer about this model and was told you needed to buy each manufacturers software annually , if this has all manufacturers and you do not need to pay anually this is a bargain . Good thorough review !
Yes, this has it all and I just did a video on the Mucar Vo6 which has the a almost identical interface and is on sale for a little while, see the video description ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BdiN4xoj-3Y.html
What exactly does "bi-directional" mean. I thought if you can do "coding", isn't that the same as "bi-directional". On the Ross-Tech VW group diagostic tester I had (dongle used with my laptop), I could calibrate my speedometer, change my automatic 3-flash turn signal to a 5-flash turn signal, etc. and you could see all the binary coding, etc.
@@achristian7015 Being able to operate components with the scanner. For instance if you get an evap code, you can use your scanner to see if it operates. Shortens up the diagnosis
Sounds great and I've never experienced island life longer than 3 weeks and can imagine how great it is when there is family near by. Enjoy and cheers.
For the TOPDON AD800BT OBD2 Scanner On Amazon they said it does Mileage Calibration: Copy or write the kilometer value Please can you explain that? .. . .
I tried the a30 pro and it was very unstable. I even did a follow up video on the a30 pro and again it was unstable. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y0Oxb7K70wA.html Follow up video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aqnr1bb2GGY.html
Do you have to pay every year in order for this OBD reader to work ? If you dont pay does that still work ? Do you need to have internet to used it ? If you don't updates does that still work without updates ? Out from the box can you used it without wifi or internet ? Can this scan for Fuel Pressure ? And can this scan for compression test ? Is this a Complete diagnostic Scan tools ?does it Scan from 1996 cars going up ? How about Toyota Camry 2001 2.2 Liter 4 Cyl or Buick Park Ave 2003 3.8 Liter does it Scan these cars ? Does this scan for battery ignition parameters ? Does it Scan for a bad head gaskets ? Is this the latest version 2024 ?
It works for both vehicles you own. There are no checks for bad head gasket or compression on any scan tool. It can help you with a compression test but you still need the pressure gauge and would need to remove the spark plug to test for pressure. These tools are valuable for getting sensor readings and them trouble shooting the rest with data you have been given. I hope that helps and I believe this unit came with lifetime updates but you may need to connect to Internet to activate.
bravo for the superb and detailed video ... I would like to know for injectors if I want to change them it takes the new injector codes on an Opel year 2005 please? thank you very much and excuse my English I use a French English translator
Do you have to have wifi all the time or not Just looking around and looking at reviews was looking at the 600s and the 800BT trying to figure out which one is for me
Hi Eric, you only need wifi for updates. Would get the 800bt or ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ewky_DsA0MI.html Because they can get get bi directional support if you even want it as it's not available on the 800bt.
@@RANDOMFIX thanks for the video I no I'm got a pro but like the birectional control like I said work on cars all the time can really use use the directions tools thank you very much 🤘
Sorry for the. Spelling tired spell check. I appreciate all the information very much I'm probably better off the 800 do a lot of people's cars and are really into diagnostics keep in touch
So it scans everything to do with the transmission? 98 Mercury Grand Marquis, do you think this is the best thing for the buck one? If my budget is around 300 tops? And no active test on this? What about the launcher CP 431X or 123X or whatever?
I asked you yesterday if you had any issues. If you want you can buy a scan tool buy Autel, Xtool, and Topdon. I would stay away from launch personally unless they have improved as their older units from two years back were very poor in functionality.
@@RANDOMFIX I hear ya, do you happen to have one company has sent you that you don't use or would be a good starter one you could hook me up with? I'll pay for it of course
@LaffyGaffy69 I only have two on hand right that I used all the time. The 800bt from Topdon as it has lifetime updates and the d7w as has good active or bi directional suppport. I can’t sell these as I use them.
@@RANDOMFIX I understand just figure I'd ask I thought you had a bunch of them ones that you might not use you know companies might send you some to review or whatnot? Thanks anyways though I did subscribe to your channel
how does this compare to xtool d7 or a30 pro? beside the bi directional options, which is best for the money? what do you recommend? i am budget diy, there so many scan tools out there. i am lost
This is a stable non bi directional scan tool., this is the perfect in between that has lifetime support and you purchase bi directional features at $49 per year, the purchases are optional ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ewky_DsA0MI.html and this is same tool, check the video link for special coupons on both ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BdiN4xoj-3Y.html
I've watched your videos on mk808 thinktool mini and now this. So in summary what is best? Also I really want a oscilloscope with my scanner. What is available for the thinktool and this topdon? I can't seem to find anything about oscilloscopes that will plug and play with either of these scan tools. Thank you and great content well done.
@@RANDOMFIX thanks. The oscilloscope is an extra part I believe and I saw it for £999. Do you know if that is the actual going price and what is the scope called or the part number. Im finding a separate scope with screen etc is only £100 so much cheaper option than a scan tool linked add on. Please let me know what detail you may have on it. Cheers.
That depends on your router. You don't need wifi for this to work. You can just updated in your house and then go out to car to use it. It's nice if you have wifi but it's not required.
@@RANDOMFIX I’ve just bought one and it’s picked up a few faults I hit enter one of the fault codes it says internet not connected even though I know it is..thanks
Update the tool in your house and then at the car turn off the wifi on the device so it doesn't to try to connect with a weak signal..try that and let me know.
@@RANDOMFIX I think there might be something wrong with my unit’when I hit the scan function it just buffers and says loading and I have to turn it on and off to stop it,if I hit Obd2 function it will connect straight away to the vci dongle but the scan function option is hit or miss on will it connect
I recently had to take my 2020 rav4 xle premium to my dealer and ended up spending close to 1400 dollars. Two things that really got me angry was the 275 they charged me twice for reseting two codes. Can this scanner reset artuator for the rear brake and activate OEM TPMS? If not then is there a scanner that can do the following ?
Yes to rear brakes actuator and you will have to email the vendor for the tpms reset. If the light only blinking then there is a fault, if the light is sold for tpms it just needs air. Sorry about the 1400 wasted on a $100 repair for the rear brakes. I would look at this unit instead of the Topdon ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bVynZ5Qeg1U.html
I think the think tool mini is what you are looking for home use ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ewky_DsA0MI.html Or the pd8 for a little more $$ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bVynZ5Qeg1U.html
Does this unit have a microSD card slot? I ran out of memory on my other diagnostic tool and was told to delete some of the cars that I do not use it on. If the tool can diagnose 100 cars for example, then make sure you have enough memory so that I can do updates on all of them now and later.
Why is it many of these diagnostic testers go under different names, like Thinkscan Max by Thinkcar which looks exactly like the Topdon ArtiDaig 800BT except for color?
Hi, you can watch this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3ly_XrKxyQA.html, it doesn't take long to upgrade. This is my account. If you are interested, you can follow it. There are many videos about product operation.
@@RANDOMFIX Thank you bro I take your advise about this device I have no experience I am buying for a friend of mine in Africa so I get no idea if it will work in Africa or not.
