Free- motion quilting a quilt top made from a Judy Niemeyer pattern. In this video I am stabilizing the quilt by stitching-in-the-ditch. Where I can do some pattern stitching, I am. Watch for more videos as I work on this quilt.
Oh my!!! Just BEAUTIFUL! I just found you this morning. I have a VERY old Gammill Non computer quilting machine. I just started quilting (well let me say piecing last summer) now I want to learn to quilt. THANK YOU So very much for doing these videos.
You are very talented and very patient. I land up doing an edge to edge pattern on my quilts as I want it to finish fast. Maybe some day I will do a whole cloth quilt and attempt some of the incredible design you do. ❤️🪡
Thank you. I am very impatient. lol I have trained myself to walk away so that I don’t rush especially with a customer’s quilt. My own, now that is different, I have a tendency to hurry up and get them done. 😬🤣
Take a picture of the quilt and then doodle on the picture. If you put the picture into a plastic folder, you can use a dry erase marker and re-mark until you find a design you like. Then use chalk or water soluble markers to transfer the design to your quilt top. Then, take a deep breath and go for it! Once you start, the nerves will leave.
Wow! Such a beautiful quilt! I learned a bit about stitching a straight line from you. My ditch stitching (sit down longarm) is rarely straight, so thanks for the help! Can't wait to see what you do on this beauty.
Just found you. Am so happy your longarm is not computerized. Mine is like yours. I will be benging all your videos. I am going to say to myself that this is my birthday present on February 27. Knoxville TN here
Welcome! Happy Birthday 🎂 I picked up my machine from a lady in Virginia USA, in November 2018. Brought it back to Saskatchewan Canada with my Jeep Cherokee, set it up and started stitching. In 2019, a technician from South Carolina & my local tech from Alberta came to my home to install the Lightening Stitch. That is as computerized as I will ever be. Thank you for subscribing.
They are daunting. I use to take a picture of the quilt top and print out several pictures. Then I would doodle stitching designs until I had something that I liked. Next step is to load the quilt and start stitching. Remember to enjoy the process.
