One important thing I missed is 4:23, reversed is clicked. The material needs to be made UNDER the XY plane. Not on TOP. Else the bending lines will be on the bottom of the sheet metal and the bending won't work.
To Bend at Sketch Line-at 6:30 ... Click on/ High light the Padded Part (Not the "Mirrored" in Part Tree) Then Hold CTRL and Click on the Sketch with desired bend line: Then Click "Fold a Wall" Icon in tool bar- Also, at 4:23 make sure to select "Reversed" when padding your Sketch or the bend line won't be in correct location to work.
Well? No way. Nothing is explained. Shortcuts or witch button gets pressed is not viewed or said. I only got to the point having the sketches but then after choosing Mirrored and Sketch001 only one icon gets colored of the sheet metal related. And that button even does not exist on his sheet metal workbench version. Mine is V 0.2.47 and button looks like a sketch and a fold.
Ok it was a surface problem. Before I had highlighted the whole pading by what ever means. Confusion between clicking in combo or surfaces. Coming from blender so the 3D space isn't the problem but where to click and when.
Click... Click... It's not a problem slowing down the replay solves it :) But care must be taken when editing the clip, otherwise we miss something. Anyway it's a big effort from you to present this very useful tutorial, thanks very much. I was fighting to get the first and second Folds... Why have you reversed the initial Pad ?
At 6:30 you speed through the bend process so fast, it is not actually clear what you are clicking. I actually had to stop the video and step through it! Otherwise, the tutorial is good, thanks!
I would like to know how to add holes to the bend sections. Also, everybody here complaining about speed: you can slow down the video in the settings. and be grateful for free education.
Thank you for showing me how fast you can click on things. Tutorials are for unexperienced user, like me. But when you move your mouse as fast like a squirrel and giving unclear instructions you help nobody. You should watch a tutorial how you make good tutorials.

@@CFDIntech You have to tell step by step what you are doing and what can go wrong. Divide your tutorial in sections and name those sections . Explain what buttons you press in screen. Do some things twice so everybody can understand. For example I made my body exactly same way you did and in sheet metal workbench wasn't working like your was. I didn't have that bend button active to use when I tried to bend from that line of mine. So be exact when you do these things.
А можно сделать тоже самое но наоборот, построить 3д модель и развернуть на плоскость чтобы сделать раскрой лазером, либо сделать чертежи для слесарей?
Can not get this to work. I am missing something I guess. You move too quick and dont explain things very well. I made the sketch, made the bad but the part where you add lines to bend doesnt work for me
Thanks for great sharing , may I ask , as yr 3.24 the line hight from 20mm change to 15 mm is fine. but for me, when I try to change it to 15, the box was shown that " Cannot set the datum because the sketch contains conficting constrains" , it just accept i undo and reinput 15mm. would you suggest me whats wrong step i make ? thank you!
Great video. You go too fast at times and do not provide explanation of why you are doing things. The example already mentioned was the reverse on the pad. it would have been helpful to stop and explain why. When you are creating the mirror it would be helpful to slow down and explain why you are choosing each axis. Nice overall, but this comes across well to duplicate what you have done, but imparting why it was done that way.
Good tutorial but you miss the explanations of what certain tools do and when creating the folds you do two and then delete one and say you need a new sketch but never really explain. I have to replay numerous times at 0.25 just to see which icon you actually used. Even then I can not see how you got the body, mirror and sketch to all highlight at the same time. I can get the body and mirror to highlight only. If I get the body and sketch to highlight the bend icon is not available. It is frustrating when you give an understanding of what and why things happen. You need the understanding so it can be applied to different projects. Thanks for trying though. Longer with more detail would be better. thanks
Maaaan, this video made me sick. Lots of clicks and mouse moves. I've been trying to make this simple feature work for almost an hour and none is working! Please do not make videos like this one again!

umh, just saying my side, that your pace felt okay to me throughout the video. but yeah, i already have general idea of how things work in FreeCAD, and am familiar with sketcher and part design WB. The people who found this video fast probably are looking for tutorial on getting started with freecad, in which case, this video is not suitable to them....

The tutorial is good. It sadly doesn't change the fact, that FreeCAD is a pile of unusable garbage in it's current state. Drawing my sketch on a piece of paper would've been 20 times faster. This is coming from a software engineer, who does about everything digitally. Can't even remember the last time that I printed something on paper...
