IIRC it has a 3.55 gear. He needs 3.10 or higher so he has some room to grow and trap faster.

Rob Galles or lower? lol higher is worse. But you get quicker 0-60’s with higher gear ratios. But for 1/4 mile yeah this final drive needs to be lower so he can stretch the power band out.

It definitely needs more turbo, bad. However, most high performance diesels (race and pulling) don’t fully clear up smoke under full load. Some of the best do (like Firepunk’s drag truck) but most do not.

Unfortunately, I'm guessing they probably didn't, since they don't know better. For all guys working on P-Pump Cummins: Clean the pump shaft and gear bore with brake clean and compressed air before torquing the nut down. A taper friction lock only works when it is clean and dry. (Glad you're looking out for everyone too, Dan!)

Pandora's Steak House - OK I guess I’m mistaken then. Kinda weird because in this video he says it very matter of fact (doesn’t sound jokey) and the pinned comment here says “now I know” which makes me think they figured it out after making this vid. Anyway you’re probably right because you can’t pull a gear from a chain drive (without losing the chain) and can’t turn the gear or rotating assembly in fractions of degree increments with chain links and teeth, so they couldn’t have thought it was chain driven.

Jeremy is almost 3000 lbs heavier. He would need more fuel (injectors) than just that 10mm CP3 to push into the fun zone of that new 67mm turbo. He will lose but by less than last time. It’s all in fun though. It’s like leap frog. You win then they make theirs faster and they win next time, then back and forth.

This is epic, but am I wrong in saying that all of that black smoke is unburt fuel that could be used to make power? I seem to remember an old Banks Power video where he talked about the 'coal rolling' being nothing but power sapping. I agree it can be cool looking but quicker ET's and more horsepowers are much cooler!!

It is unburnt fuel. But there isn't much you can do with a 12v because it's all mechanical, where as a common rail truck, you can tune how much fuel is sprayed thru the whole rpm range while keeping it pretty clean.

Cleetus and crew. By chance do you know the last time it has had the overhead run on it. (Valve adjustments) as hard as its been run you would be surprised at how much it can help with the valve lash being correct.

Nothing wrong with horror fright, you get exactly what you pay for. They sell cheap tools and don't pretend otherwise. I buy better quality on the things I use most, but for those tools you use once a year or you know you will misuse it/probably loose it then I see no reason to spend a fortune. Like a 10mm, just buy them in bulk they all disappear after the first use anyway.

Harbor freight is great for consumables. Like little tap bits for 10/32 screws and shit that'll just break anyways. Why spend 80 bucks on good ones that'll just break in double the time a 10 dollar set will. Love harbor freight for stuff like that

They're fine if you don't put a cheater bar on them. Even if you do, by the time you break enough of them to pay for a fap-on set, you'll have made enough cash that it'll be real obvious you went the right direction.

Wouldn't that parallel? Sequential means in series. Maybe drive each turbo with 3 cilinders and compound charge (hook up the inlet of turbo 2 to turbo 1). Or even more fun: get a small jet engine to spool the turbo, full boost even when the diesel engine is off :D

There is no chain in the Cummins. And 7° engine timing is 14° pump timing. I learned the hard way when I lifted a 24v head. Be careful. But yes 24 to 30° of pump timing is ideal. I believe on spray you want closer to 26 ° total timing. Just keep an eye on the egt
